Hoping to find an answer here .....
Can I run a small compressor by taking off the electric motor and replace with a hydraulic motor to run the compressor off the tractor spool valve ?

Yes, just needs sizing to the flow from tractor
Obviously with blow off valve on compressor

How do I 'quantify' what size motor to get ? .....any idea ?
I assume it needs to run quite fast ?

Yes you can @Hfd Cattle. A small gear motor will run at the required speed probably 1450rpm. It would be handy to know the Kw rating of the current electric motor.

Will get a compressor sorted and lat you know the rating , will be early next week .
