Hydraulic top link help.

Am after a hydraulic top link for various things, don't need a super mega thing, not drilling or power harrowing or got a massive fert spreader.

Have had a look on Kramp but it's a fair mine field. I think I've finally made some sense out of it now.... Current standard top link is 645mm wound right in from jaw centre to 'fork/yoke' centre. I could do with being able to be a good bit shorter than that so I think I've finally found the below links might suffice.

No doubt someone will ask what I need to be pulled in that short and the answer is for our double bale carrier. I need it level to get onto the bales, then once it's lifted it doesn't tilt forward much at all, I've actually had bales slide/fall off going up not much of an incline. There are 3 top link hole positions, but I'm sure it will be a case of I'll be able to tip it forward more, but I won't be able to get it flat level on the floor to slide onto the bales, so figured the only realistic solution is a hydraulic top link. That and I've figured once you've got one you'll probably use it for just about everything?

https://www.kramp.com/shop-gb/en/p/...khead--TCVNA4090185K3?categoryId=web5-4083241

https://www.kramp.com/shop-gb/en/p/fork-head--TL25323630KR?categoryId=web4-4061457

So the minimum length is 565mm plus the 'fork' at 63mm according to measurement 'L1' would take the minimum length to 628mm. Whether that 17mm saving would be enough to allow me to tip the tool forward enough is difficult to imagine.

https://www.kramp.com/shop-gb/en/p/...khead--TCVNA3570185K3?categoryId=web5-4083241 This one is 540mm min length, the the 63mm fork from the L1 measurement again, taking it to 603mm pulled right in, so 42mm further in that my original. Both push out 185mm which is ample.

Other issue is the bar to hang it up really needs to be a CNH one, don't fancy having to tie it up....

Is this making sense or am I way off/missing something? Any user experiences appreciated! I'm sure there was a chap on here called Dave who had something to do with hydraulic top links?

Cheers

Just get the Cnh one? It works well for us, even with the bale carrier. You really don't want to leave it on the bracket unused for long periods of time, as it'll be quite heavy whatever make you choose.

Well, not 100% sure but going from my workings out I think somewhere around or very near to 600mm centre of fork to centre of the jaw pulled right in. Any pictures? Send me a private message if you'd prefer.

I would recommend no quick hook.. they go off with useful travel and make something that is already too heavy even worse.. what size tractor is it for?

I'm the same, have a NH T6 and needed a hydraulic top link for the bale spikes and bale lifters, turns out I needed it for everything else I own seeing as I can't be without it now!
I just bought a Kramp one from my NH Dealer, cheaper and was in stock, bought a bracket similar to this too so it works almost like genuine.

We got our first hydraulic top link in 1999, it came with MF 390 and from that day on we've bought all our tractors with hydraulic top link. One of those things you don't know you need but can't live without once you have it.
