We have a Walterscheid Hydraulic top link with a bearing end on the piston. It has worn away and requires replacement. we have been quoted £755.00 for this part. This seems excessive to me. Any thoughts?

Seems very expensive. New top link less than half that, unless it's on a 500hp tractor maybe?

Christ on a bike! If it was me I would buy a Cat 3 end and either get the rod bored and screw it in (easily replaced in the future) or get a machine shop to cut the old one off the rod and weld another on. See links.

why did it wear like that, was the wrong size pin used in it. Anyway that’s mad money , a new top link is cheaper .

Don't think they would cut it, that top link in the OP photos is for 300hp+ tractors.

Cat4/3 on a 7280r working a triple row bed tiller, correct pins used.

I can supply the part number 1204296 for £556, which is still a fair stretch

Or the other options I can offer going off what I can see the length of that piston rod are,

660 - 948mm CAT 3/3 enclosed end for the implement but not a bearing like you have 11t lift £465.

Or 760 -995 CAT3/3 same ends as above £1194, CAT 4 version £1100, dont know why its less.

Or CAT4/4 Q hitch claw implement end, 18T lift 802 - 1108mm £953
