Hydraulic toplink.

They have there uses but i wouldn't want to use them for large heavy loads for long periods of time plus you will be using up a spool..

Screenshot_20200706-222605_Samsung Internet.jpg no need to be so negative, a bit of imagination is much better. Using up a spool ? Easily overcome, plum up one of these, pair of pipes with Male connectors into the spool and two pairs of female quick connectors out, one pair for the top link, then just move the lever and you can use your spool as normal. Mounted within reach outside .

We have two mid range pumas here -

One with the standard toplink this one is fully inclosed (much safer in my opinion)

One with the hydraulic toplink with a quick release claw end this is Ideal on the plough and the power-harrow for finer adjustment.

Id recommend a hydraulic toplink if you have alot of mounted implements.

On the newer pumas you have the spool buttons on the mudguard alongside the linkage controls

My personal view.. would rather have a proper top link. Than rely on on orings and hydraulic hoses when it comes to large implements bouncing up the road.

I’ve got one I swap between tractors.only me so not an issue.yes they are very heavy but invaluable on fertiliser spreader and subsoiler.woukd use all the time but lack of spools can be an issue, having only 3 on each tractor and one permanently plumbed to front linkage.id not be without one.

Wouldnt want to go back to a manual one, Ideal for ploughing especially when doing headlands.
My tractor has buttons on the mudgauard to operate it so hitching up is made easy, yes it uses a spool but theres 6 others to choose from ??

Would never go back to manual top link, got mine from Dave on here (can’t remember which Dave though!), very good.
Mine has an enclosed end, the hook ends are the work of the devil.
Feel much safer with a hydraulic one than standard when you have anything heavy on, easy to hitch up, and if you don’t need it you just unplug it.

2 hydraulic top links here. No way I’m going back to manual. Have enough spools for all jobs except the (trailed) drill so that’s not an issue. Have a mounted cultivator which weighs 3 ton much easier and safer with hydraulic link. KRM fertiliser spreader needs its tilt angle changed with different products. It takes 2 seconds to press the button and look at the level. No mucking around lowering the spreader on a block to take the weight off a manual link.

Has anyone ever had a hydraulic top link jaw open out and drop the implement? I won’t use normal top links with a jaw end for this reason. I have a couple of fendt hydraulic ones but I’m very wary of using them on anything heavy.
