Cassia looking a bit tipsy in places, thankful that nitrogen rate was adjusted down due to the dry weather earlier!

Agronomist said your call on whether to put some growth reg on Planet S barley as not normally something I would do! Good job I decided on 0.15Lt Moddus as some bits have gone down though not too much.

Had a drive past some of my cassia yesterday and luckily it's all standing apart from an odd spot where I recon a dollop of poop fell of the spreader.

10 ton/acre pig muck, 135 units N and no pgr!!!! I think I've been lucky.

I’ve got some cassia like that but had 2 lots of canopy on it, still well over waist high.

Kerrie looks good after a bit of a yellow rust start, but gravity is starting to test its name
It does look well at home and even over the road it looks well, but it's the only one that's gone down Shabras and gleam look vert promising and Grafton is just being Grafton, can't believe it;s coming off the recommended list :(

...When so many indistinguishable varieties are allowed through by the AHDB. I'm going to go out on a limb here, and ask what the difference is between GP2's KWS Siskin and KWS Extase (and fwiw KWS Lilli)?.
Apart from untreated yield there's really bugger all difference between the two in their stats to warrant the bluster and BS coming from the trade trying to justify Extase seed at £450/t

... and Extase is the best of the new crop. Plenty of new 'vanilla varieties' that just don't have a niche to justify their existence.

One new candidate in RL trials is KWS Parkin, which is notable for being the only other variety that I know of with a -1 for maturity, same as (KWS) Grafton. If the extra couple of percent yield over Grafton translates from trials to field, then it might be worth a punt, but Graftons niche as a northern entry for OSR should have kept it on the RL. Hats off to Hutchinsons for including both at their Alnwick trials site (y)
