200 Peice set

£120, is this a good deal?
I bought one a couple of years ago & quite like it - I ended up getting another one just before Christmas as the original one was missing quite a few pieces! I really like the ratchet ring spanners - they're chunky & really take some abuse. There's a good range of bits in various drive sizes - including Torqx & star sockets. The 1/4" handle (screwdriver type) has a socket in the back end so you can use it as an extension for the 1/4" ratchet.

On the down side the clips on the box crap (& not covered by the lifetime warranty) and most of the sockets are 12 point rather than 6 - that said I haven't rounded any heads of with a halfords socket yet & one test involved me not undoing a 17mm nut by bouncing my full weight on 4ft of extension on the 3/4 ratchet! Another downside is lugging the weight around.

Overall it is overkill 90% of the time, but is fudging useful the remaining 10%!

with the recent posts regarding socket sets and the price of them I thought I would post this photo of my Britool Sockets set which I got in the early 1970's from Brown Bros, Old Street , London

I wonder how much this would cost now.
