The sthil looks much better value that the husqvarna is there a place you can compare petrol to equivalent battery
I am pretty sure that there was a review in the Farmers Guide a few months ago where they trailed them together on an estate in Norfolk, upshot was that the forestry workers didn't really review the petrol one properly as they all wanted to use the battery one.

Not suitable for huge logging operations but coppicing, hedge laying, that kind of thing, brilliant.

Which one? I am very tempted by the Husqvarna 535 iXP
That’s what I have and love it though find the chain hard to sharpen by hand compared to larger chains so the sthil would be harder as it’s smaller again (1/4 )
It not helped it gets the shitty jobs as it’s handy than the 550xp and the only problem has been it need cleaning in side the case

I recall being told some main dealer garages were already charging over £100 per hour, that must be why.
A dealer who'll remain nameless had our tractor in for a few jobs a few years ago including correcting her running a bit hot. The book was twice what I'd set as a limit.

When I queried it I was told the drive belt was routed wrong and they had to remove the front pto drive from the crank but it was so tight it took the apprentice all day to do it! I was charged all day for the APPRENTICE at full fitter rate (£80 per hour). I fitted the front pto kit myself. I'd have done it in an hour.

They won't be doing any repairs for me again. Ever.

But it is the bees knees for sharpening those little chains.

Should start another thread on this subject really but hey ho ?. I’ve had a call from a guy today, he’s had the dealer at his tractor for two whole days looking for an electrical fault and still not found it! Now they want to take it into the workshop ??‍♂️, I’m going to take a look on Monday see if I can find the issue for him.
