I admit, I have a workshop tool addiction :-)

Got one & it's pretty darn useful, only real complaint is that most of the sockets are 12 point instead of 6 which would be better.
Looks like they have changed to 6 points now and kit contents look slightly different going by the pictures. I seem to remember fair bit of af sizes before, it's all metric now.
Any one bought a set recently? Wondering if still same quality

I bought these a few weeks ago as well as a couple of clamps http://fireballeu.com/ they are more useful than they look, the only limit to their use is your imagination

Are they 8 inch or 12 inch? Do you think they are worth the money?
I got the 8 inch ones. Compared to the red magnet type, the difference is night and day, they are expensive but I do think they are worth it, I also bought the C clamps as well and you need them, without them they are not as versatile.

The triangle shaped one is the one that I have used the most so far, but there is some things that it won't work on and the other one will. In the past few weeks they have added edge alignment tabs to the website, I'm going to order them as well as a few more clamps. I don't think you could have enough different shapes and sizes of clamps, without decent clamps you'll probably not get good use out of them.

Recently purchased these. Starrite band saw. Will cut 600mm x 450mm. And the lathe needs looked at slight issue with it. £500 for the saw and £125 for the latheView attachment 922522View attachment 922523
Nice one Simmy what model is that lathe? Bought a S&B 1024 a few years ago never tried a dial gauge on it but seems to work fine, what’s wrong with yours? Do you have a drawbar and collets or a tool post, unfortunately buying a lathe seems to be the cheapest spend but seems a bargain at that price.

Just tool post and 4 jaw chuck. Used to work for a machine shop and have plenty tooling that I've gathered up over the years. Yeah it will run for abouts 5 mins then starts slowing down and locks up..... switch it off then back on, and it will run again for 5 minutes. I'm thinking clutch but might be wrong.... any ideas mate?
I could have spent that money on a day out on the drink. I know what I'd rather have. If I can't get it going, or its going to cost too much I'll just sell it on

A friend had a second hand lathe and kept burning out motors (didn't have a low enough trip on it). Turned out that too much oil in the box was dragging on the gears.

WOW.... seen them advertised on his Instagram page. Look really handy, but hell, they're dear
That's for a set of four that I bought, you can get one for 100 euro. They are dear but there's a quality feel about them, not like the usual cheap rubbish that we get nowadays.
I wouldn't do a lot of welding but I wouldn't send them back in a hurry

Sorry if your machine shop trained your way above me, hopefully someone will know

Found the cause. Sadly to engage low range speeds. Someone hasn't engaged the lever fully. Stripping the teeth from the brass gear inside the head
