I know the lawnmower isn’t a workshop tool, but if you look closely there’s an new pair of pipe grips and a couple of stanly knives as well:ROFLMAO:

I don't really get the whole attraction of those adjustables. I only use mine to bend iron. The handle looks like a good idea, but by that time isn't a knipex pliers wrench a better buy?

I don't get the attraction of any adjustable spanner. They are the tool of the lazy and feckless.

Just open the tool box and get a spanner that fits, like a normal human.

Well that's not really my point. It's just that the few times I tried using them they slip over on the small ones and the handle isn't long enough for the big ones. I do use a knipex cobra as a sort of adjustable spanner and they are fabulous.

I need a 4.5 grinder. replacing a dewalt that did 10-12 years, looking at this 900w metabo https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Metabo-W...=item5b3385fba0:g:VFgAAOSwDdNaoJco:rk:24:pf:0

Does anyone have one? what's the guard adjustment like? I've two boschs and they have this awful adjustment where you need to loosen a screw so the guard can rotate past these bumps on the collar, whereas the dewalt you set the screw tension just so and you could move the guard, but it'd never move itself. I dont run grinders without guards.
bit late to this party but did you get a grinder JB?

i have five metabo's here, 4 125's and one 9", im getting lazy so i want one for every kind of disc i use.
personally i wouldnt buy a 115 at all, too little a disc whereas the 125mm isnt much bigger but lasts a lot longer and the grinder isnt any bigger.
to answer your question about the guard, i know on the wepba's at least has a quick change lever for the guard, just pull out the little lever and rotate it to where ever you need it to be, its very handy for those awkward spots.

the second last grinder i got was a wepba14-125 quick, now its not a cheap grinder but you wouldnt regret splashing out on it, indeed i bought one this week and i went for the same model again, if you look it up you will see the spec but off hand its got a brake, paddle switch, clutch, quick release for the disc, high wattage and what i find an excellent job it has a built in balancer on it, youl never know its there but it makes a disc go a lot further compared to one without.

this video will explain the auto balancer a bit better, its a metabo video but its hard to argue with it.

Adjustable spanners are useful where you don't have the right sized spanner - several times recently I have come across nuts that don't sit nicely in any of my standard spanners. They are also handy where you need a second spanner to stop rotation.

and the really boring thing about them - especially in a confined space is when you can't get the head off the nut for another bit without slackening it and then having to tighten it again, that is why I bought one of those things.

Adjustables are an infrequent part of my spanner usage but I do like to have one or two about.
