Hell of a nice thing you have there. Never forget dad taking out a big weighbridge, which he’s says was circa 2” plate, all went for scrap. Oh how we wish we’d keep a bit

Was ramps for ferry or something
I think tale is he was on site , ramps, draw bridge was made / measured wrong. Project scrapped, can u shift that scrap out of the way plz , if u can move it u can have it . Prob 20 year ago , ive two man hole covers on yard. Hes down to about 6 ft square now i tink, cleats welded one side, megga bracing tuther.
I wonder y large projects cost alot?

+1 for the grinder, even working at the bench next to the power socket I was using mine, but then it is living on top of the mains angry grinder.

My yard is generator powered. No mains. So I can pretty much justify any battery tool

Both hitachis died on me. I wanted new hikoki's but I like my local tool guy and he doesn't do them anymore. He said Flex is pretty much the inventor (In dutch alot of people call angle grinders a "flex"), we'll see.

If you were vat registered and lived in the midlands and could collect it yourself and had a case for it already, then it would be reasonable....

it's a fair old lump to try and move without damaging it on the sharp edges

a nice tool to have though!

It's a granite surface plate 3'x3'


It was £48 from Sweeney Kincaid auctioneers. I'm going to get it reconditioned at some point as it's pretty beaten about.
Going to lay the new edge on it and see how worn it is later. It's still more accurate than my capabilities though!

That does sound very reasonable, so log as the reconditioning isn't too costly.
