Got a GE quad trailer direct very good price and nice quality, not sure on their new trailers but older ones dont use proper leaf spring suspension (some hydro bush rubbish) like ifor, total garbage in my opinion, indispension far to heavy feels like you loaded when empty.

Personally i would go nearly new ifor, make a saving and decent quality, there worth alot second and because there decent

plenty about second hand nearly new

i got a ten year old (now) ifor 14 foot with sides from a sale for £1600 last year and its spot on was fully serviced prior to sale but been excellent

Is that for real? The idespension type suspension (or rather bpw units) are 100x nicer than horrible leaf springs.

No complaints is that a fact or should it be no complaints that you have heard of?
I have 3 or 4 farmers in my yard every day collecting fencing stakes , so I see a lot of differant trailers , Ivor williams have gone out of fashion , not as good as they use to be . I have used the 14 ft Nugent and found it a lovely trailer to pull.

Only reason I’d buy an ifor is to sell it on.
I do maybe 20000 miles a year towing and have tried all makes. Torsion bar suspension by far the nicest system for my money.

I am thinking of buying a 14 foot trailer and I was told there is 8 week waiting time for Ifor Williams and even longer for Graham Edwards but a Nugent from the agent at Velindre is available straight away.... I have heard some not too good reports about Ifor Williams but nothing about Nugent
I can't be arsed reading the whole thread, all I can add is I have a Nugent and very very pleased with it, but I won't be buying another, this one will see me out

Both good trailers. Since Nugent is available and if the price is in the ballpark, go for it.

there is no rush..... I am leaving it to the royal welsh show later this month

Oh no, a prospective customer who can't make their mind up and will bother every brand and dealer, back and forth for weeks on end.

No, I can't believe you are one of those. You just need to do your research to find the very best value trailer. There's just too much choice though. Ramps and their design, jacks, suspension, security of the sides, whether they will outlast a last-forever Ifor Williams, tying down points and their legality [don't start that one again], and more.

this goes back nearly 16 years when I was looking to buy an engine driven welder when I looked at different makes and I decided to sleep on it for a couple of weeks ….. then I discovered I could buy welder at better price direct from manufacturer...I cannot buy trailer at better price from manufacturer but I will wait a week or two just to see if something comes along..... my engine welder has been an excellent machine

I'm on my second tipping Ifor, both 10ft long, 5ft 6 wide, 3.5 t gross. First one was sold at ten years old, 3 sets of tyres, one set of brakes, one tipping motor/pump setup after much buggering about with sticking brushes etc. New improved setup much better.
New one has just worn its first set of tyres off, doing fine otherwise. Lights are not Rubolite like the old one unfortunately, back door folds both ways which is handy, bottom opening lever can get bent.
Yes I would buy another.
Local dealer sells Nugent, nothing against them (I have a wee single axle Nugent) but I discounted them due to the one piece sides which make it less handy in some situations.

No I have not bought trailer yet because some unexpected problems turned up like being arrested and taken from local police station to Mold
Crown Court in similar vehicle as seen on tv news when criminals are taken from the Old Bailey and very nearly going to prison by a smooth talking lady from the Crown Prosecution Service but prevented by lawyer who is good at his job. I now look at lawyers differently.. But I still have an almighty big mountain to climb which I
have to do alone When this is done then I shall buy trailer but I have been looking into things and gamic is out because of excessive waiting time
I am not sure about Nugent as I have heard some bad reports on this site in the past, about a month or so ago I was talking to a local guy whose brother had bought a new Ifor Williams flatbed and the sides would not fit but the dealer did exchange trailer , which leaves Bateson which I am very keen on unless someone knows different

Back on the hunt for new trailer as well, but flat bed, likewise do like the looks of Bateson,
Presently Woodford, okay, but want something stronger, Brian James also contender.

Has Farmers Weekly ever done any trailer reviews? It would save heck of a lot of time on this forum. Pros and cons on flat bed, livestock trailers been discussed for years now.

Lad I know bought a Bateson few years back. Seemed very crude and poorly finished at the side of a Graham Edwards. Ramps are even worse than ifors. Square end at bottom so a 3" step up and don't meet the bed flush
