i am thinking of buying 14 foot flatbed trailer

I am thinking of buying a 14 foot trailer and I was told there is 8 week waiting time for Ifor Williams and even longer for Graham Edwards but a Nugent from the agent at Velindre is available straight away.... I have heard some not too good reports about Ifor Williams but nothing about Nugent

I was chatting with someone wanting to order the same or similar last week and the delivery lead time from Ifor W was well into the double digits.

I’ve just started using a Bateson 14’ 6’6” wide bodied flatbed. So far a very good trailer and easy to pull. Lousy hitch lock though - the key is hard to get in and get out. I have learned the technique but at first you think the key’s stuck in the lock.

I’ve had an 18 foot Graham Edwards for years now, just traded it in for a Nugent. They’re a really well built trailer and tow great

Have you actually spoken to Graham Edwards direct? Thought there was only a long lead on special orders

yes I phoned Graham Edwards and I was given contact details of the nearest dealer as it is dealer supply only and I was told by arfon Roberts he had trailers but were sold and it would be at least 10 weeks waiting time before any more arrived... but I can have a Nugent or Brian James immediately, I will try Bateson , there is a local firm Gamic but it will be even longer waiting time... I will enquire about the trailer on facebook…. it is odd why there is such a long waiting time with a number of makers in the country

If Arfon would be your local GE dealer, then why not try the Brian James dealer :

NW Trailers
Trewyn Fawr
Corwen Denbighshire LL21 9RW

Speak with Iwan 01490 736350 / 07967 317315

Great chap, I bought my tipping trailer from him

Just altered your reply to get the quote right

You have your answer I think. I'd buy from Iwan . He's in IW's home town and think he worked for them years ago. I'd buy from him again and the BJ trailer I have is good

coed y dinas would probably have an ifor in stock it would be worth ringing them
yes I will call at coedydinas as it is local but I don't like the attitude of the next generation of directors but perhaps that is my fault!! , someone has said that ifor trailers are not the best... I will phone them this morning

I have phoned coedydinas and there is 14ft 2 axle available so I will look at Ifor Williams and Brian James and Nugent and decide... the IW trailer is cheapest but is not necessary the best buy.... if I want Graham Edwards trailer I will have to wait at least 10 weeks but I am not waiting

As said before, God help you if you have an issue with a Nugent, dealership and Sean Nugent, about the most arrogant people in business about, had to issue proceedings to claim back my money,
Also be aware when loading, as cross members over wheel arch, are useless,

Be interested in your appraisal of all the options - so long as you don't come back and say the IW was the poorest but they offered the best price and their resale value is always there
