I had the opposite, two young ladies who had spent the weekend at a house next to where I was mowing flashed their boobs at the window a couple of times as I was passing.:wideyed:

I still managed to maintain relatively straight swaths.....:lurking::woot:
There is a woman next to one of my fields that never seems to have a top on. Came over to watch shearing last year, the boys where very exited! 😂

One of the (townie) neighbours here was telling me how their then 18 yr old daughter was sunbathing in the garden one day and the previous tenant spent a good hour slowly driving up and down in his tractor on the other side of the hedge.

Thankfully they still saw the funny side, several years later, but I made a mental note to be more discreet if I were to observe such a thing...🤐

We've a few bits where you have to walk through the garden to get to the field out the back, soon learn to look the other way from the patio/ hammock for fear of appearing an ogler. One place the house is to the right and the swimming pool to the left, I just walk through staring at my boots !

We did have a neighbour back home who liked to enjoy the sun, in all it’s glory, while mowing his lawn. He was middle aged and pot bellied.
Our fields were on 3 sides of house and he had a tall garden hedge so never knew, and obviously never bothered us.

We only found out when a delivery driver turned up one day, having stopped there to ask directions. He was still as white as a sheet.🤣

Was filling the sprayer from the bowser early one morning behind some posh houses when a young rather fit young lady strolled out onto an upstairs balcony stark naked to have s stretch in the morning sunshine. Then she looked down and spotted me, like most women she turned and ran back in the house :D

I witnessed a few times similar when spraying very early morning and people thought all they had was fields of potatoes or corn behind the house when they opened the curtains topless 😂

We used to have a pair of young nurses who rented a cottage next to my hill lambing fields. They had moved out to the country to ”further their relationship “ in peace. They spent hours out in the garden stark naked and apparently totally stoned any time the weather was clement. They were totally oblivious to me going about my sheep work.
Sadly they had to move when a local fella with behaviour issues, was caught ogling them once too often.

Btw no grass in this part of the Borders . Still got 70 cattle to go out and no chance of shutting up land for silage any time soon

We are in for one hell of a summer I think. I've never seen so many wandering around miles from the footpaths.
End of lockdown = licence to do whatever you like in the countryside.:(
And when all these lockdown puppies grow into dogs, then the sh!t ( in plastic bags ) will really hit the fan....

They're everywhere. I was at my sister in laws the other week in sunny southland. Always thought it was the middle of nowhere but turns out the track in the photo is a walking trail for those walking the length of the south island. Gets busy in summer. Talked to one guy, he'd been walking for 2 months and was only a few days from finishing, he had some interesting stories to be fair. Not your average city day trippers.

Not so far off the truth, a property somewhere close by, up for sale, sellers keeping some land around it, new prospective owners want agreement signed before completion, restricting the keeping of noisy/dangerous animals / pigs/poultry etc, on retained farmland, what makes it even worse, is , I am informed , that the man is a farmers son, you couldn't make it up.
Is it just me or would others get pleasure in telling them to shove their offer with strings attached?

A farmer who can't cope with a late Spring is in need of some sound advice on how to prepare for an event that has affected farmers since time immemorial. Many if us are running short of fodder, but most livestock farms will have one or more snack feeders - and a local Compounder who is more than willing to supply something with which to fill it. And there are still turnips and fodder beet to buy.

The problem of a late Spring is as nothing compared to other far more difficult problems - financial worries, family issues, depression, and serious disease outbreaks.

And I've said before, grassland which is in good heart from previous years of being well managed will always show growth in a late spring, when poverty-stricken swards of buttercups and daisies remain dormant.

I didn't realise you knew my farm.

5 reports this morning that they saw dogs loose chasing ewes and lambs yesterday. Hundreds of ewes and lambs on partial coastal land as people have left gates open ( I remove all ewes and lambs from coastpath fields on bank holidays for this reason.

went to move them back off this morning into their respective fields and 3 ewes with 6 lambs bolted down this cliff to hide in the blackthorn over a 60’ drop the second they saw my dogs 😭

Ugh, dogs and people that don't deserve to own them.
Regarding your gate problems but if it is that bad, can they not be made self closing, with a weight on a chain? Or would that just mean that if you leave the sheep in the correct fields as the gates will now close, they will just get chased more?

So many different types of gates, some gates we have fence posts in the ground so they can’t be opened more than 2’ but then others we use daily with the quads. Most gates which I don’t use on my daily run and arnt footpaths are tied with barb. You’d be surprised how many gates get lifted off, even small kissing gates.

Someone said to me when I moved back here after being on big farms with no footpaths involved - “Welcome to the front line” 🤦🏻‍♂️
