IAE Crusader Plus crush

Couple seconds hands squeeze crushes on here already, might be an option?
How come you didn't get the grant??
Lack of numbers, I would think. I only had four heifers at the time of application. Sent a supporting email explaining that another six were 'in the post' with more to follow but no dice. Approved for a few other bits and pieces. Am I the only farmer in Scotland not to get a half-price squeeze crush??😢

Similar situation to you, only putting around 30 quiet (ish) sucklers through. Went and ordered one through Mole Valley Farmers last week and delivered a few days ago. well built and robust so seems to fit what we need. Was toying between that and the Saracen auto locking one but we already have that type headstock unit and find it a pain getting the quiet ones to lock in and could see a broken arm happening, so went for the saloon door type.
The 10% off voucher in their newsletter helped as well so may be worth checking with local store if they will add that on as it was the cheapest supplier I could find before discount too

I’m not sure if mines a ‘plus’ or what’s extra on a ‘plus’ but I’ve been very happy with it lots of access at the front. I only run about 50 sucklers, keep it clean should last me a lifetime.

The Crusader plus has removable sides so you can put a calf to suck.

Not a iae crusader plus I know but just picked this Bateman hybrid up this morning looks and feels a good and decent unit which is more or less the equivilent to the crusader plus.
No grant on it as I couldn’t spend 7.5k on tackle .
Just have to wait until new year for the foot trim add on
Only gonna be for 20 ish cattle plus young stock so should last a couple of generations kept inside

@Karliboy how are you getting on with the Bateman hybrid ?
After getting a reactor with TB at the last whole herd test, the powers that be have decided I need to test the whole herd 3 times i before winter. So have decided I need to upgrade the old tubar crush.
The hybrid looks handy with the opening panels in the head yoke for testing.
Will probably upgrade to a half cocked handling system so I can Ai the heifers, save getting them behind a gate in the pens and save a fortune on baler twine 😁

In all honesty I can’t really pass to much comment on it as I have only used it twice and that was last week to vet my bull with a bad foot.
he fairly filled it but was still a bit off room.
I wouldn’t want a much bigger neck than his though or you would struggle to close the head lock in its widest setting but he is a British blue.
Mine isn’t fixed down so I can pick it up on a pallet truck and move it around my shed on concrete but it’s not well balanced so needs 2 people to do that because of the loader pallet fork slide things being where they are under the floor.
Other than that I can’t really say much more 🙈
