Iae system b

Anyone got a system like this set up in a barn they could send me some photos of? Trying to get some ideas to minimise waste space and how sheep flow

The estate has one built of stone, up on the next hill farm.

1 way in, 3 ways out;

3ft dosing race to the left
dipper straight ahead.
Footbath alley on the right.

The dosing race and Footbath empty into the dipper drying pens before put into a big pen. I was the last person to use the buchts before they were converted to take cattle. It was a great set up.

Sounds a good system im putting a new footbath in my new system at home be big enough to hold 40to 50 ewes at a time. Was sick of running 5 or 6 in the old one

I have worked in a couple and didn't like them.
Gates are opened and closed quicker when you can walk on the outside of the gate so it's not hitting your toe's or heels which you can't in a round pen.
Struggle to fit enough sheep in a round pen for two decent race fulls of sheep which meant more back and forth fetching sheep.
Ok for dipping and clipping if there's a extra man on outside of sheep as he can always keep them tight

I yes its what i wanted a stand in bath to hold a good amount designed it so they have to go through it before they go into the race. Concreteing it all tomorrow infact.
I’d footbath after, I’ve milked in parlours where the footbath was outside and was 50 metres before the collecting yard and parlour yet would still get headaches from it by the end of milking on a warm day.

@Romney_Rob look at the proway Rotary force. when/if I ever put a new static system in I’m getting one of them.
Have you sorted your length of dosing pen? I find 30ft long and 3’ wide ideal, I don’t like the narrow race’s as you can’t get in them and the sheep move around to much.

Well construction has started, sort of figuring out where everything goes - when we bought it from eBay it had been dismanted 5 years and no one had a clue how it all fitted together will update with more photos as work progresses

That's rather interesting.....we sold a very similar system about 5yrs ago, it was in a yard we bought in 2007, never really used the system as we just couldn't get on with it, but we weren't dipping, only occasionally foot bathing.
We found the main race was too wide, it was single file but far too wide, but not wide enough to be a drenching race

Chap turned up and dismantled it ????

No, on those photos its not, ours didn't have guillotine gates, just drop in panels,

On the other end it had 2x rectangular drainage/ holding pens for the exit of the race
