I am fairly sure it is not an asian hornet as all the abdomen sections are yellow but it does not have any black spots on the segments so it is not obviously a queen wasp?

I don't think that is a wasp or hornet of any kind. Looks more like a beetle or a beetle that is still in the process of becoming a beetle.

Hornets are a good inch or more in length. See them here from time to time.

Serious question. How does it work. You see one then phone and try and find the right department to report it and it will likely be days before someone turns up. How do they find the one you have seen to track it?

'kinell, just imagine how many government inefficiency rules would need to be broken for that to work ....................the hornet will have died of old age before anyone even got to the stage of figuring out its 'what 3 words' location
