As above, we are on the brink of worldwide food shortage, if not even worse.

What better time can there ever be for all farmers with any common sense to tell Red Tractor and all other farm assurance rackets to go to hell?

As ever of course there will be some who won’t, and they will take the extra penny and try and sell others down the river. But this time there has to be enough producers with plain common sense to realise that this is a golden opportunity to take, to once and for all destroy this ridiculous self perpetuating bureaucratic nonsense that is farm assurance.

Did it some years ago...lost money as I had less abattoirs to take my cattle. But it was worth every penny lost for the satisfaction of telling them to get lost.

They never will unite, we all know that. It ain’t rocket science.
Makes no odds at all to me milkloss, I kicked them all into touch years ago and am far better off.

But for those who remain under the boot heel of oppression there will probably never be a better time to escape.
It is for farmers themselves to decide whether to take the chance or not.
It will only happen when the NFU own up to the mistake they made & instruct farmers to leave, we all know farmers interests are very low down the NFU’s concerns!

That's the problem, where do you sell, I would have to sell the cattle as stores.
The issue I had the other day when I sent cattle to abp was they held my cheque back as I had not filled in their annual tick box questionnaire. Took over 2 weeks in the end to get my cheque..

Had my inspection today. Right at the getgo I told them what I thought about RT and they didn't disagree.
They had voiced concerns to the ones above but were told they didn't want to 'rock the boat' 😳
That's disturbing.
But, I think the message is getting through, definitely to the ones on ground.

As an insect under the boot heel of my dairy contract that stipulates being in RT (as are all dairy producers), how do you propose I approach this without being squished?

Boot heel of oppression lol.
So how are you "far better off"?

I have never been involved in any UK schemes but looking in from the outside I have never understood the Red Tractor scheme. The whole point of any scheme should be it should segment the market ie product A is worth more than Product B because its of a higher standard. Once the rules potentially allow everybody to join it becomes pointless, at least from the farmers point of view.

For the commercial producer looking for productivity its just a time consuming annoyance and for the man with a genuine niche product that should be more expensive the rules aren't strict enough to keep everyone else out.

Less stress?
Better mental health?
The sort of stuff that can lead to higher blood pressure resulting in strokes/heart attacks as well as less strain on relationships.
Not everything is measured in money.
Red tractor for cereals is a complete load of rubbish but it really isn’t stress enducing.

It is lower down but unfortunately they dont control the strings. NFU part own along with others, NFU wont have a bad word said about their quango baby and any NFU member on Twitter will block you or tell you you are an idiot for having a view that does not match theirs.

Not another one! Just leave! Why do you have to come on here with some “Braveheart” speech! Just don’t join RT. Market your products through channels that don’t require RT and everyone is happy. You lot remind me of school yard fights- two kids standing in front of each other shouting “come on then”. No one on this forum cares if you are RT or not, so stop wasting your time pontificating on here and crack on.
