Is the new new 1/2" impact gun out yet over here
Mine is getting tired on the hammer side or can a rebuild be done
I've backed out of the mac gun offer

not seen it yet no. the got a compact mid range one out smaller version of the current big one, still packs about 600nm
be similar spec to my old brushed 1/2 one only half the size. Be a really handy gun I think.

hardly the same mate.

3amp batterys against 5amp
single charger against 6 port
combi drill 88nm against 135nm

these I notice just at a quick glance I bet if you drill down in to it there will be more differences.

I have nothing but trouble with anything Makita I ever owned.

That was just the first kit I came across with the same items.
It's actually not even a brushless kit.

Regardless makita make variants of each tool and they are all more or less same ball park price but have different rpm and torque ratings to suit particular jobs, as I'm sure Milwaukee do but that doesn't get away from the fact Milwaukee are always more expensive.

The local iron mongers I use is George Boyd's and they're a Milwaukee dealer, I was offered a "good deal" on a kit after my van was broken into and took all things makita, to be honest the price I was given was hilarious.
I can't remember exactly but somewhere in the region of £1700.
I ended up buying the latest brushless makita gear, all bare tools
Brushless circular saw
Brushless impact driver
Jigsaw
Planer
Hoover
SDS drill
Drill/driver
Dual charger
and got 9 5ah copy batteries off ebay
All for £900 all brand new, all under warranty apart from the batteries.

The only makita tool I've ever had bother with is the multi tool. It was my mates and I kept breaking it.

My cousin has only ever had battery problems with Milwaukee. He blames the radio for letting the voltage get too low and won't charge again. I've had a similar issue with makita radio.

They have gone that way it seems . They used to have a red case which were stackable and could be clamped together. A much stronger case altogether.

I see were they were coming from with the new cases but agree they are poor, the idea that you can lock multiple cases together as one (as many as you like! more than one could possibly carry) is a good idea for a builder etc keeping them tidy and not rolling about in the back of van etc or for stacking up in the garage etc
it wouldn't be so bad if they had a decent insert not the thin plastic one that will break up in a few weeks hard use.

It don't bother me as I never use them anyway, they just clutter up my workshop till I get fed up of them and bin them.

How come they don’t make a little back pack battery with a short stretchy cable on you could plug into all your power tools? Would make the tools a lot lighter especially for things like grinders

Makita used to do that. Must be 15 years ago but I remember a roofing contractor here using one. Don't remember if it was an impact gun, I think it was just a big ass drill.
