Yeah, watched a lot of that. Bigger numbers always better, but do I really need it is the question... I've no idea how much torque I put out with a scaffold pole on the end, so I dont know how big those numbers need to be to get what I do, done, iyswim

well if your wanting scaffold pole performance then forget the midtorque, you want at least the 1/2 high torque or the 3/4 even then if your tube is very long your in to 1" D handle territory.

How ever for replacing flails i would have though the new midtorque version will be more what you want??? its lighter in the hand and fits in smaller spaces. But it isnt going to touch wheel nuts unless its a car or something small. also unless your talking Ifor Williams type trailers be ok but most agri type trailers will have tighter nuts than tractors!

You cant have a tool that does it all unfortunatly.

Thanks, that's useful info. The torque test channel should do a video pulling different length scaffold poles on their test rig so simpletons like me can compare scaffold poles to torque numbers and know where we are with what we need!

Mid torque is probably where I'm at on a regular basis and the pole can come out for anything it can't do. If the pole is out a lot, I know I need a bigger one...

Buy a high torque 1/2 inch, basically same power as the 3/4 but different anvil. You can turn a big tool down but you can't turn a small tool up. And if your thinking 1 inch, the long anvilled one is the only one to have and its @£1000 ish all in.

So this happened...

Bloody handy, got enough go for cleaning air filters and radiators out too.

Surprisingly good on battery life as well.

Anyone got a reciprocating saw 12/18v? Just wondering what all you use it for? Heard a guy once saying the blades don’t last a minute so waste of time using it.

Yes I've an M18 Sawzall and a friend has an M18 hackzall.

You need to buy quality blades when cutting steel, I buy Milwaukee ones.
Have cut through 60mm ram pins with a single blade before.

They're brilliant for cutting seized ram pins etc

Not a precision instrument though, they work on the Oujda board principal - the more you try to influence it, the wilder its course becomes....

I have the 12v fuel hackzall, handy little thing for assorts, use mine quite a bit to modify pallets to make smaller ones, cut the left overs up to easy kindling lengths. Cutting up plastic cans to make drip trays. once you have tools you soon find uses for them you didnt expect:ROFLMAO:

I've got a non milwaukee mains powered one & find that there's a knack to not killing the blades - you need to get the speed and angle/contact area right whilst maintaining just enough pressure to cut without being too light or too firm, both of which will rapidly blunt the blades. It's very much something that you need to get a feel for. I met a chap who was killing blades with only a single cut on 100/3mm box, whereas I used a single blade for 10 cuts. Mind you, he didn’t even have a clue how to use a basic hand saw to chop a 2x4!
