How are you finding the heat gun now as i could do with one for heat shrink as a blow torch is a bit clumsy and when you consider its not much more than a good mains powered one

its useless outdoors IMO, i not tried it with the nozzle reducer on yet, that might make it better with heat shrink as more concentrated heat. Its poor compared to a main powered one so dont even think about comparing it to one of them. It has been useful i heated up a stiff PCV breather pipe with it in freezing cold enough to pull it off the rocker cover with out ripping the plastic fitting off the perkins rocker cover so that was good.

I think they just pick on stuff that getsthe most results or looks dodgy ie unmaintained trailers, the next wagon was a scaffold lorry…we were well within weights.
Normally they will have a day just to target your sort of set up and 4wd’s and leave lorry’s alone but they wouldn’t be able to resist a scaffold lorry, their hit rate for finding problems on those is very high.

When pulled in, Can you make them sign a form that if when poking about they break / scratch / disturb things on your vehicle that they are responsible OR are they teflon coated like all gov bodies. Do they still take diesel samples? run their own cars on it

Don’t know, I wasn’t about to antagonise them, I was very glad they didn’t start talking about tachos….

Just a heads-up,20% voucher code on ebay at the moment for powertoolmate and some others. Need to compare with the websites because they could be £10 more to start but take £30 off

Yeah I was going to post this couple days ago but did a random comparison on there website to ebay and this time there was very little difference, looks like they put the ebay prices up this time before the voucher came in to effect. Sometimes it has worked well in my favour but this time would have only saved a fiver buying off ebay.

Yes, depends what it is. Cordless grinder is about 12 quid more but then 30 off with the voucher. Impact wrench kit only saves £5

Varta 096 82.48 on their own website, 76.55 on ebay.

That's 11.86 less for the 2 I've ordered.

Suit youself.

An example of my best ever Ebay purchase was a manitou part, they had 48 in stock and it was a buy it now at something like £45 each or best offer, I messaged the guy to ask his price for all his stock and he gave me a really good price, I then had a 20% off voucher but to make the most of it as it was limited to a max value off but could be used an unlimited number of times till end of that month, he agreed to let me buy all his stock but spread over 3 orders and I then applied the voucher code to each order. Ended up paying only £11 each item😂

Anyone reccommend a compact 1/2 inch compact gun, something similar power to the FID but with 1/2 inch anvil M18 ideally oh and a good ratchet

FID? You mean the impact screwdriver with 1/4 hex?

Probably best to go for the new compact mid torque if you want m18. Or buy the m12 stubby which is really good and then a 6amp battery. Dont need a charger cause you can use you normal m18 one as does both batts. 🤷‍♂️

This is probably what you want? Its the next size down from the mid torque. Only this one, the mid torque and the high torque ones are worth buying if you want m18 batteries the others are all old and out performed by the smaller m12 stubby.

If you check out you tube its possible to make the FID screw driver a 1/2 impact! And according to them that have done it it out performed every similar sized Milwaukee! Unless you already had a 1/2 impact with burnt out motor though it's not really a practical solution😂
