Idiots guide to Milwaukee.....

Are you pleased ? love mine , my mate has dewalt boxes but the milwaukee is bigger n better !

Too early to say yet. I'm going to have to play with it - but it looks durable.

Busy reroofing the workshop just now and been doing a lot of thinking about how I can reorganise the way I work.

I'm not a great welder or fabricator but everything is reasonably well laid out in the workshop - I can lay my hands on whatever set of tools I want without too much rummaging. Have a lot of 110v kit so need to shift transformers and cables about - but got 9 Milwaukee cordless tools now and use them more.

I tend to take tools to the job - usually shed repairs, water troughs, slurry scrapers, broken cubicles, etc around having cattle. Been throwing everything into a wheelbarrow to go to the shed and want something a bit better. Been looking at platform trucks but can't find what I want - secure load (tools don't fall off) and solid tyres. Had my eye on the Packout for a wee while and may get some more bits - smaller containers for bolts or screws, totes for carrying loose tools?

And then FFX cut the price. Well...………………..

Just watch, there are brushless models with 60nm and 135nm max torque. Screwfix sell both, but are not competitive on price. Watch out for multipacks, as they often put the lower spec drill in with a grinder or impact wrench and at first glance the price looks attractive. You need to look at the detailed spec.

Leaf blower is better than I expected it to be, blows shed floors out easily. Will drain a battery in a hurry though!

Yes got the leaf blower on all our balers. Just as good as a petrol Stihl. 9aH battery lasts about 25 mins. Haven’t flattened a 12aH battery yet.

What’s the consensus on this set to keep at home? Don’t really need anything bigger just around the house. Saves lugging tools around. I know it’s not a brushless set and only 4ah but the prise ex vat is very tempting

For normal DIY it'll be fine. But I think you will find that same kit cheaper elsewhere. Screwfix would be that last place I would bother looking!

Just type the model number of kit in to Google.

Yes I just used the screwfix link to compare the specs. It’s appealing to have a clean set at home that’s not oily and diesel smelling!!!!

be a lot lighter too, hanging pictures and shelves etc don't really need the big heavy models.

Can’t seem to beat the Screwfix price either. It’s tempting now as with a charger and batteries at home it would be convenient to just bring tools home and as you say for diy in the house plus curtains and white walls don’t really go hand in hand with engine oil covered impact drill!!!

I saw this - I’m very tempted. Would be nice to have the impact driver set up as a screwdriver and leave the Combi for just drilling when plugging and screwing a lot of stuff or it’s a ball ache changing bits around if you have a lot to do. Sod it, I’m going to order one.
