Such a long thread to look back but has anyone bought a Milwaukee strimmer ??
My current one ( non Milwaukee)has terminally failed prematurely but see Milwaukee do one and I have lots of the stuff (plus batteries) so thought maybe to add to the collection . Not going to be doing loads , just a few hours a month for 8 months maybe . Would the 5 amp batteries be enough or in other words how long would a 5 amp last in work time?
Thanks.

I've had one for a year or so now. It's not used daily by any means, but with the use of a 9AH battery generally I have used it enough to do what I have wanted to do.

With a 9AH battery on hard going thistles and docks etc it will last 15min of consistent work. It's always been enough for me.

Incidentally I bought the chainsaw extension as well as the strimmer part of it, that is extremely useful for cutting limbs in a man cage if you get up to that sort of thing, the distance away from the limb with the extension is quite an advantage!

Another red purchase.

A hot air gun, some of the reviews aren't very kind however people were doing things with it that I don't do like drying plaster and paint. I hope that it can partially or fully replace the bucket of hot water (that cools very quickly) and sponge that I use for thawing out drinkers on cold days. Time will tell but it looks ideal to me.

I bought one😂 not as hot as I would like but it'll warm my spanners up nicely on a cold day🥶

How do you find their locking pliers compared to original vise grip ones?

Dont know, first pair and not used them yet. They look decent, slightly disappointed as i wanted bigger ones, 9" was the biggest they do and thought that was going to be bigger than the pair vice grips i already got now but there the bloody same size :X3:

Had my first extended warranty repair on a Milwaukee tool. Took a minute to navigate the web form and a word of advice to anyone registering a tool on line scan your proof of purchase as you have to have it for a claim. Anywhoo, the webpage created a label which I stuck on a box with the drill on it and left it on the doorstep, it disappeared and re appeared 3 days later fixed. First class service from Milwaukee and Tooltech Coleraine.

Has anyone got the flathead grinder yet? Our oldest grinder is sounding pretty rough now and fancied replacing it with the flathead but it was double the price of a standard 1 😱.

What are the reports on the cheaper copies?

the 9amp battery does not get good reviews, i have one and no complaints about 2 years old i think. The 8amp is a better battery than the 9amp as it has better cells in it so slightly higher powered, 5.5amp, 8amp and the 12amp all have the same better cells.

i only have 4amp, 5amp and the 9amp. my 4amp ones are now very old about 8 years and still work as well as when new IMO, my 5amps are around 6 years old i guess? and again working fine and my most used of all of them.

I wouldn't buy another 9amp know knowing the bad reviews of it and the fact they don't have as good a cells s the 8amp
