Hello I am from New Zealand. I am currently doing the season here in NZ and want to continue on to America after this season. If there is any crews or anyone knows a crew or company look for workers for the 2020 would be very helpful.

How comes big farm outfits in America and NZ like Robinson farms can’t find workers from there own country’s ? I no loads of lads who have done a season abroad and it sounds like most the staff is English and Irish

Lots of reasons really. Its seasonal often 7 days a week, hours etc. Combine crews in the US are not known to pay well, its more for the adventure and you're basically either in a machine or stacked up in a trailer house.
Silage crews don't travel quite so much and seem to pay a bit better, Kevin Robinson treats his staff very well, probably why he gets so many applicants.
Same here really, seasonal work, very weather dependant, ok if its a temporary thing but not really a career.
Not all employers are good employers.
Some places just like having foreign workers around, its good to have a mix of locals and imports and its nice to have contacts around the world.
A lot of Kiwis travel to the UK for your harvest too.

yep know happens here a bit big thing is it's only short term at peak times
in the USA alot of farm workers have gone to the mines better money same in Aussie also not the rural kids about as much so the kid next door not there for harvest etc etc

full time jobs more locals part time some locals rest fly in's or pack packers

I looked at some full time jobs in Aussie and they would blow what I could earn here out of the water part time over harvest good money but yer need to be young single and have a airfare to pay off
