Or ' he's a goner ' FT.

Have his plans gone well so far do you think, or is he and his Dom playing everyone ( including Her Majesty ) along?
Genuine question.

Sorry to interrupt a reply from FT,

If the whole population of the UK were asked to choose between;
1, A general election
2, A second referendum
3, Rescinding article 50
4, Boris's plan

I am very confident Boris would be seen to have the most support.
I guess therefore his plan is good but the attempts to stop it are making things difficult.

Thanks JA. But what is Boris's plan, just to run the clock down to No Deal?

It’s a bold guess, given his personal, political and public track record and especially so as earlier this week he hadn’t even shared his plan with his cabinet, far less the country.

I don't know.
But it is the only strategy that is possible of getting a deal.
It might even be possible that the deal that is forthcoming comes with the ultimatum from the EU or an individual Country, that no extension would be granted or it would be vetoed.
It must be clear to them that there will not be a majority for a deal in any other circumstances.
Although none of the EU wanted us to leave, I'm not sure there is much enthusiasm for us to remain anymore. It would cause huge civil unrest here which would be likely to spread.

His plan was to use the threat of no deal to scare the EU into renegotiating. As per @Henarar on the first page, the hope of that is now gone thanks to Hilary. The EU will now just breath a sigh of relief and sit tight and wait for it to all blow over. The only thing on our side that can change the mess is a GE. The outcome of that will either be enough parliamentary votes to pass no deal (in which case we are back where we were when Boris took charge), or enough remain votes for a second ref. Which would presumably result in cancelling Brexit.

As I stated before, he can't share his plan as there are so many transpiring to stop it.
It is obvious that Amber Rudd was found to be doing everything possible to undermine the rest of the cabinet and couldn't be trusted.
I can only guess at the method of his plan but it's aim is clear. To have left on the 1/11/19 with a good deal or none. That is still, by far, the best plan. All others lead to more uncertainty for an indefinite period of time.

I’m sorry, but your response reeks of desperation. You expect the country to trust a proven liar, when his own family (who presumably know him better than you do) don’t?

I wouldn't be so sure about the last bit it could go either way just the same as it could at any time in the last few decades

Cant disagree with much of that, some high stakes.

I'm not a defender of Boris and I am well aware of him having made many mistakes. Could you provide examples where it has been proven that he has lied?

I don't trust anyone when it comes to Brexit. Everyone has personal interests and agendas, with parliament as a whole showing contempt for due process. Declaring to respect a referendum and then hiding behind untruths in attempt to overturn its result.

If you wish to interpret my response as desperate, then that is your choice. It was my considered appraisal of the current situation.
