If McDonalds ever went 100% Plant based what would the impact on the beef trade be ??

of course there is a practical problem for all vegan/vegetarian diets......yes you can possibly feed more ppl/ac......BUT.....only about 25% of uk is arable.....then rotation 1 in 5.....so you'd be looking to feed your country of about 5% of it's ag area

bit simplistic but..y'know:)
No matter how many times you explain that to vegan, they just purposefully misunderstand and use that twisted quote that 80% of the world’s agricultural land is used to grow livestock!

If McDonalds stopped selling beef burgers then a lot of cull cows would have to find a different home. I should think the remainder of the meat trade would be more than happy to take them as it stands.
McDonalds only use forequarter cow beef for the manufacture of burgers ( they call them pâtés) Apparently they had all sorts of problems when over 30 month beef was being incinerated because the pâtés would not hold together. In another life I had a look around one of the plants supplying them 30 years ago in connection with their supply chain letting them down and some very dodgy meat getting into their system.

So in reality the actual volume they consume is not that huge?

I think it was last week that a TFF member mentioned/showed on a Thread,( sorry I can’t remember which one ) how the financials of a certain artificial meat creating company in the USA were not looking good, certainly not the place to invest in!! Apologies for not being able to be more specific.

Very little - as McDonalds is primarily in the real estate business, I would simply assume there would be some prime real estate coming on the market if that were to happen.

The real impacts on beef production will be due to producers' failure to adapt to "the end of cheap inputs", and closer scrutiny of the pollution aspect of their current fertiliser/labour/machinery inputs

It’s quite simple, if you have a car full of people 4 are omnivores one is a herbivore, you will eat somewhere that allows the herbivore their fill because by definition the omnivores can eat either.
So in order to not loose out places such as maccies BK PH and dominos offer a vegan option. Now by doing so they have made 5 sales likely 4 meat and one plant based or some mix of the two. If they didn’t offer the options then a vegan only establishment would’ve had 5 sales of only vegan food.

so to put it simply, plough on. By offering a vegan option they actually drive demand for meat further

@MX7 Any chance you could find that please? I’d love to see it. There were some articles a few months ago revealing how the lab slop industry is having huge problems for all sorts of reasons, they settled my nerves somewhat. I actually invested a small amount in the only UK listed slop pusher (Agronomics) earlier in the year "just in case". I’m happy to report that my investment is heading downhill and is looking more and more like a dead cat that prob won’t bounce. Share prices move for a reason. The clever money can show exactly what’s going on well before any news comes out.

Had a drive thru the other day , can’t say for sure but it looked kinda suspicious that the Big Mac seemed slightly smaller than usual , I do wonder in they are cutting ingredients just slightly the burgers just seemed less full … sounds odd I know.
