'If' my beans are too thin.

In that poor plants defence it had dropped the bottom flowers and that's were the pods were minding there own business ,,,,,

tho the little pods did tell me that they would sooner take there chance with a angry old bruchid beetle than be stood next to a turquoise freelander

I wish all beans podded as well as the outside edges of fields

Blimey, ! Have you been sticking some on @Badshot ?
It does seem incredibly well loaded that plant.
I bet the combine wheel drops in a wheeling just as he approaches that bean plant and the headlights 12" high leaving most of them behind

I can see a competition coming along ,,,,,,,, most beans in pods for 1 bean planted.
Pretty low podded,, . The ones further in are podded higher, but not so effectively.
Tbh, if they were all like that one I reckon thered be as many beans left as harvested.

Need to find a way to get effective crop shading for weed competition, but still get effective podding.

Might get 4t /acre crops of beans if they all podded like that one.

I'm quietly pleased with my beans, like you @Badshot I have sacrificed potential yield for decent crop competition and have produced nice looking crops that have yielded averagely. This year due to drought the crop is shorter and thinner than my 'optimum' but pod set looks great. As ever can never tell until the combine rolls in....
