If you tell lies you'll get caught out eventually

As it's been suggested it's to act as a valuation as part of a lawsuit.

Seems a long way round for a shortcut to me.
Suppose they will have sold expensive bulls by jaegerbomb up around the 20,000 mark before all this furore broke out...the people who bought those might try and come back on them so maybe they are wanting to finish and shut the company down..seems a bit drastic to have to sell up but suppose we dont know the ins and outs ...its prob on legal advice.

Heard the other day that registrations are down fifty percent on five years ago and will probably drop further after this mess. Not saying the days of the limmy are over but with no marketing scheme the sire doesn’t actually have to be registered and lots are sold privately or at none society sales.
It’s surprising how the mighty can fall if they feel they are invincible

I think the breed will be just as popular, just less registrations. There's far too many being registered as it is IMO.

Maybe. If you sell something that for whatever reason is not as described, then your customers potential claim is against you, not the person(s) who caused the issue in the first place. YOUR claim is against that person.

It's a shame it has to come to this, I wish the best for Gunnerfleet. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the blcs conjure up a new world record bull from somewhere just to take the attention away from this fiasco.

It's still a fact of life that Limousin cross store cattle are the most sought after by commercial finishers - apart from good quality Charolais cross heifers. Not a single buyer has asked me what Bull they are by. And if I buy a registered bull, I have always treated its pedigree with a bit of scepticism. But if it breeds well, I will buy another.

Even with the utmost honesty, mistakes are bound to arise. If the accuracy is 95% in each generation, multiple 0.95 x 0.95 over say 10 generations.

Presumably the Jaegerbomb sons were by him though, so they have done nothing wrong as far as the law is concerned? One would hope legal claims would have to be passed further up the chain, to whoever committed the fraud?
If that person is no longer trading then lawyers, backed by some of the wealthy guys playing with Limmys, will start getting very rich I suspect.

Suffolk Sheep anyone?

Increasing costs by introducing compulsory DNA testing of everything will increase the number of unregistered cattle traded in all breeds I suspect. Of course, the wealthy guys in their respective magic circles, who are the ones that prop up the money trees, won’t be too worried about what those ‘ordinary’ farmers do until it’s too late. They sell to ‘breeders’ after all, not farmers.?

Well maybe French Suckler men should come to Carlisle or Stirling to buy some decent Limmy or Charolais bulls.
I'd say they'll be ok :)

Not sure about France, but anywhere I've visited in Germany there isn't really a suckled calf or store market, so they don't waste time worrying about how cattle look at that point, they just concentrate on performance and the end product.
