Wasn't the farm manager on Council (executive even) when they bought a Jaegerbomb bull, so should have been pretty well clued up on the Ballinloan situation.

Word around the camp fire is that he's shown interest in Iain Kerr's old job.

It's all very odd!

Honorary Treasurer.

Nothing against the man but if they give the job to someone who was involved in the society’s governance during this farce then its just arrogance beyond belief.

Procters Limousins don't seem to feature at any of the Limousin sales I've been to. Perhaps they have been spending too much and not selling enough. Pedigree breeding isn't all its cracked up to be in terms of profitability, otherwise we'd all be doing it.

The biggest problem in the cattle pedigree-world is falsification of birth dates. It's sickening for the honest breeders that they can't match weight-for-age of the bulls sold by less honest breeders.

They only have stock to look at,profit has never come into it!

He does employ a fair few locals, all good for the local economy.

It certainly is with Lims, they have for a long been renowned for birthday issues, all breeds have some, but Lims seem to take the Pee the most.

The size of the juniors at Carlisle is bare faced.

Aren't they the Littlewoods people? If so I'm guessing money isn't really an issue

The way things are going the whole society is going to fall apart. It’s very sad such a successful breed can be dismantled by dishonesty and infighting

Does someone know what is happening with the Breed Secretary position. The Exective Council shortlisted, interviewed, offered it to someone who turned it down, have two more candidates on the back burner that they might like, but have now got DeLaceys advertising it. It was on all Farming jobs websites so I don't think they have missed anyone applying who might be stupid enough to apply for it have they? New broom needed methinks. Someone who is involved in the beef industry who has absolutely no ties to breeding/owning limousins is surely called for, but knows how to market/sell/work with other Agencies is surely needed before they lose all credibility.

Really? Interesting.
How do you know all this? Haven't seen any published info on the possible candidates / progress yet?

Perhaps the chosen candidate looked at the books and thought better of if, toxic situation, falling income, lack of support, I think most would think they would be better of steering clear

The first bit was a conversation at the Mart, the second bit is seeing it advertised on Farmers Weekly. Trying to find someone who the whole committee likes will be impossible, and the best candidate on paper is not always right, time to think outside the box maybe. Don't suppose it will affect us ordinary members and arable is our main activity and we won't even go there!

DeLaceys are an agency that do stuff on a no foal no fee basis so it would be easy for a client to fly kites all day

There weren't any applicants deemed to be suitable by council, so they offered the job to someone (who they turned down for an office job some time ago) even though she didn't apply for the Secretary's job but she declined.

So supposedly it's to be advertised again.
