If you think it's bad here.....

Back when I took my car test in England, hesitating and not making progress when situations allowed it were the most popular fail points according to my instructor.
I see it here all the time, people waiting at junctions because they can't judge the speed of other motorists, not accelerating into a gap to merge safely and stopping at roundabouts when its empty.
Perhaps your kids instructors were bad, maybe they weren't explaining themselves properly? It doesn't mean they should pull out in front of cars but they should be able to demonstrate, safe, confident driving to pass a test.
The biggest faults I see here are the inability to follow at the correct distance and not being able to stay in the correct lane, especially on bends.
I had exactly the same problem, with regard to hesitation at junctions I now try to be less hesitant and try to pull out safely without doing a Pitt manoeuvre, just have to be really carefull with the passing BMW's....😆😆😆

One of the great things about our esteemed leader is that she is very reactive to making policy, so what ever we think might logically happen, probably won't happen.
Reactive implies an inability to have any vision or forethought with regard to any planned or coordinated preventative strategy....as some once said just knowing what to do just isn't good enough, knowing what to do and when to do it is far more important short and long term.
Our PM's divisive, racist and undemocratic manor doesn't bode well for her future.

How is she racist? Against Maori?

Not long ago New Zealanders were protesting apartheid in South Africa.... if you look critically at 3 Waters then it is inherently racist and divisive by design

(if you want to represent New Zealanders, just pick New Zealanders, don't make it about skin colour or ancestry 🤷‍♂️ )

of course the spin is much different, as with the rest of the world if you aren't with the facists 'then you must be anti-facist' and there's all the peer-pressure to just be nice and don't say what you really think

I think @FonterraFarmer and myself both have a problem with not saying what we really think...

Still under level 2 restrictions on the South Island.
Still haven't had any cases, been over 300 days now I think :banghead:
When we do get a case - and we will - she'll put us in level 3. Won't matter too much though a lot of businesses will be fecked by then anyway.
I've just heard a rumour that there maybe some revolt under level 2, a couple of events that shouldn't have gone ahead (over 100 people) have gone ahead successfully, I know of other events that were going to be cancelled if we were still under level 2 are now going to go ahead regardless of whether we're at level 2.

Sorry guys over in the uk im double jabbed and life is 100% normal, im clinically vulnerable so they tell me and i no longer wear a mask. i did receive a letter form the NHS last week that in very basic terms said sorry for all the isolation you had to go through - i didn't but many did - but .... we took the precaution as we didn't know what we were dealing with .. now we do and its not really that bad so dont worry about it ..... that's basically the 2 page letter in a nut shell. they took a full on lock down approach because it COULD have gone either way but turns out its not anywhere near as bad as anyone said it was. Honestly when i read what u guys and Australia have to still do its nuts.

Good, about time people pushed back a bit.
The PM and her mate just love that podium, keeping people in a state of fear stops them questioning all the stuff ups this governments made I suppose.

I read that the trade minister is off on urgent talks with the world. Are countries just crossing NZ off the list now as we're too hard to deal with?
I see the US postal service has stopped sending anything here because of no transport, I wonder who's next? I was in the post office on Saturday, the owner was telling someone it would probably take 4 weeks for their air mail to reach Australia.
Fortunately our foreign minister is travelling the world, building relationships.
Oh no wait, she's still never left the country too busy taking water off everyone.

Top post Pete!!!, I couldn't have worded it any better and is exactly what I'm thinking and have experienced.
The intent of the Treaty of Waitangi by the Maori was for equality not privilege, it now has been misinterpreted especially by the current government to mean privilege and entitlement circumventing any democratic process or debate by a select few with the expectation that any objection will automatically be deemed racist and prejudiced.
When concepts of unequality and undemocratic process get entrenched at local and central government, then you have to seriously question the calibre of the government in powered and what is its agenda.
I suspect the use of the Maori angle to demand change of any sort under the current government is in reality nothing more than a convenient diversionary tactic to implement the current government's radically regressive agenda.

The "fear" angle used by our government doesn't cut it, when I can go back one generation where where the shed next to my Grandparents house was blown up, going outside had the possibility of being shot and family members were taken away to concentration camps....
The propaganda spewed out and how it's presented only indicates how delusional and scared those who think they are in power really are.
Our current government is nothing more than a bunch of klootzak's. 🤫😉
