Has anyone fitted gas struts to an IW canopy ? Does it work well, I’ve only got a mesh back so not too heavy.
It seems a kits available but I can’t seem to find it, looking for a link please.

Why not just get some gas struts from a scrap car, a hatchback I would think is heavy so could cope with weight of the mesh back. That's what I would do.

The works pickup has an N&J canopy with a mesh back and gas struts.
Definitely a good thing.

Is there enough strength in a tin foil IW canopy to take it? I’d have thought it would end up breaking out round the mounting points.

I’m thinking maybe the proper kit must fix to the frame rather than the sheet side.

gas strut mounting point, one rivet is into frame. I use it for a solid door but doesn't fit my mesh one.
