IH 454 seat

Just bought a 454 and the seat feels too high. We used to have the 60 hp version with the 165 engine and I don't remember the seat being that high or suspended in any way. Can anybody confirm my suspicions. TIA

Should be a bucket type seat with no springs.

Yes bucket type on ours on two sliding rails quite low

The seat is high enough that I'm at full stretch to reach the wheel and to get the handbrake I've almost got to bend double!
The tractor replaces a string of old 4x4s on restricted use (some more unreliable than others) and it's main duty will be carting bags of barley around and fencing.

Are you sure there's no adjustment on the seat. Adjustmant would be for weight rather than height, ie someone heavier than you would cause the seat to be lower.
Unless you are a FB in which case it's the wrong seat.
Looks aftermarket compared with any IH seat I have ever seen.

It's not bad, just what I was looking for, something that's tidy and had a cosmetic update but not so clean and tidy that I'm afraid to do some work with it.
