I'm looking for a new tractor

Drastically different tractors to compare. If the 120m Deere is all you need then go for the same size/spec case and save a load of money.
If there both in stock then I'd probably look at the case but it depends on spec of the Deere also....

Maxxum 145 here. Great tractor, most comfortable tractor we've ever had, nice place to spend long days. Few niggly issues but nothing major. Overall, very reliable, much like our other 2 Maxxums which have been great tractors.

The 150 is going to be a lot bigger frame than a 6120M, longer wheel base, heavier and it's 30hp more so it's nowhere near like for like. However going off what you want to use it for then bigger is probably going to be better.

It`s a great shame the OP is getting so little feedback on the reliability of the two machines that he asked about .........
My neighbour and my cousin have both bought new case tractors in the last 3 years and neither will buy another one . Both have been unreliable and both had replaced case tractors that were far better.

Well all 3 of our current ones have been brilliant and we wouldn't want anything else.

Know plenty of people that would never have John Deere again due to continual reliability issues and have even switched to Claas. Know some have moved from Valtra to Claas. Get crap ones no matter what brand.

Thank you for your feedback. Can you please tell me what king of operations are you using the Maxxum 145 for and what is the transmission on it?

I wouldn’t want to be doing a lot of disking with a jd 6120m , it’s certainly not a cultivation tractor, wrong machine all together.
Get a quote for a 6145m or r. More of a comparison. I had quotes for a case 165 I think and a 6145r last autumn and although it involved a trade in there wasn't any difference in price to change. Obviously went with the deere as it was much better spec.

Going to either a 6120m or a case Maxum will be a step backward then?

Deutz 6140ttv is what you need

Four cylinder that out pulls the case six, and it's that good that Deere have decided to start developing their new engine with them instead of in house

Well proven Vario gearbox that is literally perfect for the tasks you've listed. Better lift capacity and geometry, far better brakes, and the old k series cab is a spacious palace compared to the small Deere or tiny agrofarm. Case has a nice cabin, but after Deutz control layout logic, the button positions and controls in the red one will drive you bonkers

Unless of course you've no local Deutz dealer?
Our Deutz dealer doesn't have the same level of service as the JD and Case dealers. Thank God our tractor was faultless 5000hrs(for now at least)

Don't get me wrong I like JD but in my region they are more expensive than Case. I even think John Deere have better software than Case but at the end of the day I want to finish the work I have intended to do in the time I wanted and not cost me to bankrupt. That is why I'm asking for other people's experience on these tractors. Yes JD 6145m has almost the same power as the Maxxum 150 but it is still a 4 cylinder and more expensive. Thank you for the suggestion nonetheless.

Do you have a local Kubota dealer ? If so see if you can get a demo of a M7153 or a M7173 ,both kvt's.You may be surprised by a) the tractor itself and b)the price.
