Immigration Good For The Country?

You are getting mixed up. We arent too concerned about people coming to work here, they should be granted limited work visas. What we ARE concerned about is the additional strain they place on public services. Not to mention that there is utterly no security screening for migrants coming to this country hence the growth in eastern european gangs involved in organised crime and human trafficing. We are a soft touch and free healthcare and the like for these people needs to stop.
Well said, you hit the nail on the head, how can anyone disagree with that.

There was something on the radio a few days ago about how many people are dissatisfied with their job, in that they felt their job was meaningless and made no actual contribution to society.
I got the impression that the interviewer was trying to imply it was low paid, menial workers that felt like this, but the person who had done the survey insisted that it was far from that, it was largely well paid middle management who were aware enough that their job was really a drag on the actual productivity of things, and that sector of the workforce has multiplied in size many times over in recent years.

If all the non-jobs were culled out there would be plenty of people free to do the actual productive jobs that we're told we need immigration for. And without those layers of bureaucracy sucking profits out of the system, there would be the money available to make those jobs better paid.

Problem solved! Now just to tell all those suits that they're picking fruit and packing boxes henceforth, and tell the foreigners we don't need them any more!(y)

Where are you getting the information on being a soft touch? Any research done on immigration to UK shows immigrants are net contributors to services such as NHS, perception is not proof and lot of perception without facts being thrown out here.

We ARE a soft touch.

Why do you think there are shed loads of foreign nationals camped out in Calais trying to hijack a HGV to reach Britain??

In Brittany I saw graffiti saying No English and English go home... the French are staunchly patriotic and nationalist, there is a larger racist contingent in France than the UK.
According to Google there are 150 thousand brits living in France, while just in London alone there are between 300-400 thousand French. So I find it ironic that the French are telling us to go home.

There are multiples of that number on many borders of Europe just trying to get in, just because small % of those are think UK is place to go doesn't mean your a soft touch.

Lol I have driven across Europe several times. There are minimal border controls. Anyone on foot with a map could walk from Azerbijan to Paris virtually unchallenged. Hence why mainland Europe has been plagued by organised crime and terrorism for decades. European authoritites have never bothered because they know their ultimate destination is the UK.

So have I and this just isn't true, believe the immigration % of population across large countries in Europe France, Germany and UK are about the same 12% and more or less consistent for a while. Smaller countries like Holland, Belgium and even Ireland its at about 15%. Sorry to break the news to you but nothing special just another 1st world country that immigrants are looking to head towards, Germany especially has take the vast brunt of immigration recent years.

Sweden takes loads.

Or possibly not(y), if I have a job where I require staff , the pay rate for a local or an immigrant will be the same, not less, unlike when I was working in the UK where I suspect I was getting paid less than a UK employee even if odds that I was actually qualified to probably higher level for the job.:banghead:
You may pay the same rate but it might be a crap rate. If you did not have a limitless supply of cheap labour you would have to pay more.

So obvious that there is no one left in Eastern Europe?

There’s quite a few around that think that if anywhere is a “s**thole” (not an expression I would choose), it’s the angry isle.
If Eastern Europe is so wonderful why do miller come here.
If Eastern Europe so wonderful why are the British not flocking to live there.
If Eastern Europe so wonderful why do all the other refugees give it a wide berth. It’s a hole that nobody wants to live in , that’s why the uk is so attractive to them .

You seem up on your %s, tell me how many immigrants are living here that the Gov no nothing about, there are shed loads of 3 bed houses stacked to the rafters with 20 plus per house. The figures you quote are probably the adding up of a politician like Diann abbot.
