Maybe one for @Gapples expertese...
Is it possible to change the panels on the impeller in situ? I accept it would be an utter barsteward of a job if it is
I did change them on a dominator many years ago (drum removed) and I seem to recall it being pretty difficult anyway...
Changed plenty on Dominators right enough, can't remember doing them on a lexion, I only worked on them about 4 years before moving to a different dealership & that was 19 years ago !
As you obviously can't get in via the drum you'd have to access them via the straw walkers.
It will be a case of IF you can squeeze in there it may well be possible right enough.
I've texted a mate who still works on them & he'll likely know for sure, waiting for a reply from him.
Ah, thank you for that. There is also a quite large access into the side of the machine at this point but not THAT large
Just had a text from my mate, yes you can fit those panels in situ.
There will be access in through the tank but also it is fairly easy to just pull the whole impeller out 5hrough the side of the the machine ( at least it is on a rotary anyway and canna see a walker machine being any different)
Impeller is certainly different on a rotary but on the rotary you slacken bearing collar on rh side then on lef5 side there is a panel which unbolts and allows the whole assembly to come out the side quite easily. The walker machine may well be different but my experience of lexion combines is if something looks very difficult to do go and have a cuppa and then look again as there will be an easy way to go about it these combines were designed with maintenance in mind
Certainly that’s the deal on a rotaryDo you not just remove the drive pulley, and the bearing on other side of machine, and unbolt a ring of bolts to allow the whole lot to slide out the side?
That is what I was meaning, yes. But like you, my experience is with a 98 and I did that through the front.
If it is accessible through the tank it may be worth a look.
I assume there is a pre sep concave/beater, and then a conventional threshing drum, in front of the rear beater on a 430?
