Importing American machine...

Hi, had anyone any experience of importing anything from the states, it’s from Missouri...I’ve no clue on shipping direct, machine would be new but the company is currently only us based!

The only experience I have is importing old tractors from the States
and that was some years ago
You need to look for shipping agent online and go from there
How big is machine?
Will it fit in shipping container ?
It is not really viable to bring part filled
container into uk
There are import duties to pay
Also I am not sure but I don't think the
US dollar to uk pound exchange rate is good at present

Brand new will need some safety assessment work done to make it useable, assuming that it's not been done by the manufacturer already. @Bloders knows better than me, but under the Machinery Directive (assuming you're getting it before 1/1/21 and we're still in Europe), it will need to be CE marked by either importer or manufacturer, after doing the necessary paperwork.

What kind of machine is it?

Do you know what standards it should be CE marked to?
Its machinery directive (2006/42/EC) but there could be other directives and may have harmonised standards also
The easy way is to find an existing similar machine and see whats on the Declaration of Conformity and go from there.

I assume you are intending on reselling the machines?
