Oh I understand your point, I cannot speak for the man you are mentioning but I’d doubt if he would be that contrary.

In your view hauliers wouldn’t want part loads? Some loads only two or three stops will have it ready to go. Your view of the world seems very negative, most folks in that business are game and have a can do attitude - not a I can’t be arsed one.
Not negative, realistic. I sanction lorries 2-3 times per week all over Europe’s. Just my advice so the op is free to ignore it.

This reminds me of the Plant Hire Companies who were not interested in me buying there used equipment when they had plenty of buyers - until the last recession came - funny how they want to be your best mate when all the regulars are up to their neck in stock!

Richard Long did bring me 3 mtr long forklift back from a JCB run to Spain - picked it up in Marseille and I paid £1500 for the move - - driver says he came all the way back with nothing else on - so he was glad of the £1500 that day - better than nothing when it suits you!

It's all down to communication - which R Long Transport are not very good at - they have done work for me on a number of occasions over the last 20 yrs but I am not a regular customer and one phone call or email very rarely get's replied to.
For you lads on here who are on first name terms with Longs office booking weekly business, it is a different story.
Customers always have a choice, so in this internet age there is always an alternative - I thought Richard was too busy building his farming enterprise to care too much about his haulage business.
