Deferred grass and bales for these R1s

But on the bales there are thousands and thousands of these money spiders.
Have I hit the jackpot? :ROFLMAO:?
Been 1000s of them on the electric fence stakes as I've been moving sheep too. Was getting excited about my management changes until I found similar on an intensive cutting ley that I've taken for winter keep!

Anyone on here tell me the feed value of charlock?
Been offered to graze off some volunteer grass/cereal/ charlock and wondering if lambs will do on it or stand still, or go backwards?

All it really needs is a some emails to see how the land lies with bookings and making sure there are interesting guides and from there could be pretty independent. I won't have the cash to think about it until next October but it is a potential idea. Could be fun - certainly would add an extra layer of depth to an African adventure.
Ideal. That'll give me time to dig out brother's XR from the shed, and pootle on down there. :)

Always fancied going to Africa on a bike.

I did presume that?

We try and have a week away with the kids each year, though haven't always managed that.
Otherwise just the occasional 1/2 day off.
And only do essential stuff Sundays.
Bringing this back on topic-ish (quality of life being part of a holistic context n all), that is the good thing about intensive pigs. Fully manned, this is a four-person farm. One day on every other weekend, work half the bank holidays with a day of in lieu for those that we do work, and four weeks' holiday. It's nearly civilised. Or it would be if we could find a decent fourth person.

One there needs a bit of retraining. ?
What’s your plans for it once your have grazing it? Leave it be or try and level the bale patches a bit?
Well spotted. She'll be back with the bunch soon.

Plan is to DD turnips in the spring for a quick mid season grazing break by the cows, followed by DD of a herbal ley. The field hopefully coming into the milking platform next year.

Going back to grass cages....
I've got a few about, mainly see what historically poor areas can grow if left alone, or just in firlds to see the potential of double length rotation etc.
Any way..... this one, yesterday on a "grassy" hill block, quite scrubby, that borders a moorland block (not ours) of 6/8ft high euro gorse that hasn't been burnt for years so is providing a rather snug home for a million rabbits....

?????
Bit of deer grazing too, but most have died from TB ?

The potential is there..... rabbit fence could keep the rabbits out that live in the gorse, but there's still the population in the block itself

Ideal time of year to buy yourself a couple of ferrets and a few nets! Bunny burgers/rabbit Rogan Josh, anyone?

the grass would grow better under that anyway even if nothing was eating the grass outside the cage

I hit the big time today as a minor guest on this Extinction Rebellion Rebel Radio broadcast about regenerative agriculture......

Some interesting discussion for a layperson perspective.
Well done @holwellcourtfarm you came across well. Its a shame that you hadn't been able to be in the studio with them. Unfortunately I got the feeling that you were out of the loop on some of their 'earlier' conversations.
How chuffed you must be to be placed up alongside Michael Eavis as a leading light of Regen Ag. ?
If only they knew the full story about his fully housed, high input dairy cows - maybe you could find yourself hosting the Hertfordshire Real Glastonbury Festival. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
