Thanks Pete 😀
Haha! Yes of course she was born then, time has flown!
Seems like a lifetime ago we were in NZ, haven't even looked over the photos yet.

Would be too painful to see all that land of milk & honey and easy farming 🤣🤣

And all that rotational regenerative grazing, done holistically by leaving all the gates open for 4 months 🤣

Some beautifully framed shots there, please tell Sarah I love them.
Thank you, I think she has every right to be proud of her photography talents. She said thanks as well.

Many of the real jaw-droppers are simple "snaps" with a cellphone camera, I suggested she may want to go out with her good camera and "see if you can get a nice picture of Stormy-girl for Dave"

thats the best thing with cameras on phones you have them with you when you see a good photo, go out with a camera with the idea of taking photos and you won't see such good ones, well not so far as animals are concerned anyway

I honestly thought we'd see alot more electric fencing strung about the place...... mind there was this one bloke who probably asks for polywire for xmas and birthdays 😜🤣
Given "all the hype" you wouldn't expect to see such ratshit pasture management, so widespread, around the country.
The odd thing is, it's only during the peak growing season, they are pretty good with the fences once they graze all the grass into the ground.
And opening and closing gates 👌 but there's still this inherent belief that "they do better" if you spread them out.

3 strands won’t keep them in a tight paddock but 1 strand in a large paddock which lasts then 3 days

shedders look a credit to you. I’d be concerned about improving the earth on fence energiser and/or the size and stored energy of your chosen zapper. Getting a proper zap is half the battle. If they keep breaking out; watch for and then catch the ring leaders and get them culled.

i have noticed my fencer has a slow pulse speed so there’s a lot of time between shocks

I've just spread it all out on shed floor about 100mm deep this weekend hopefully it be ok.
It was fair getting a head of steam on outside in a sheeted up pile.
100mm should be no bother, little bit of heat will dry it out nice, cows love lying on wood chip. Putting it down @ 12" to 18" outside, but chipped low grade thinnings has less green in than tree surgery residue.

Run your overground water pipe through your woodchip/compost heap, will stop it freezing up if out wintering.

Too right, same when you are planting trees or otherwise occupied, you see all the wildlife posing because they can predict your next move.
But take a rifle, you never see a deer .

Numbers can be like that, the harder you try to measure nature the harder it becomes

Mate of mine who is say is pretty damn good at grazing, albeit in a more conventional style than a regen way, went to New Zealand expecting it to be a graziers wet dream. He came home disappointed and said Ireland was where it's at for grassland management and to go there if you want to see well managed grazing.
