Well the renovation has taken its course 30 months and at the finishing tape I keep finding it gets placed another inch ahead so I will exhaust before I get there.
4 weeks ago claiming my return for putting in the saviour of the world (my air source heat pump) I failed because the Roof only had the 100mm of Celotex and a board floor (not the equivalent of the 270mm of rockwool) , I have since installed another 100mm with another board above for the EPC inspector to tell me she cant see how much I have put in it as its not visible. SO
From the bottom I have 12.5mm plasterboard 25mm of Cellotex under the joists, 75mm between the joists, 19mm of boarding on the joists, now another 100mm cellotex on the board covered by another 19mm of floor board.
So what did I have to do rip it up to show her. Later on she now tells me I have to get the Building control to sign off the works on the extension only for him to say the garden shed I have put up is not (i.e.weathered)
The shed is clad in exterior ply, roofed in slate and guttered.
Dose anyone recon if I paint it it will then pass, cos I was just going to let it naturally weather that wont do.
They have got it in 4 me.
Just an aside today the planning officer rang so say they have more ammunition to stop class "Q" applications.
Any one up for a BEER tonight I just might drown my sorrows

Post war and up until fairly recently there was an army of people out there helping and encouraging business to get on.
Those same people appear to be now employed to do as much as is possible to prevent anybody getting on with things.
It is a really poor show and Brexit or not we as a nation have made it into both a compulsion and an obsession. Point being that whether we leave or not things are not going to change much as far as regulations go.

You are not alone, we are putting up an orangery on part of our patio, we are placing an oak frame on the existing stub walls.
So we knew there could be issues regarding the wall , but thankfully digging down revealed a proper metre concrete foundation.
Thankfully the existing patio had 4 inches of concrete laid under it , which we were unaware of but should save quite a bit. We will put insulation over then 100 mm screed on top
So we went for permitted development, it is within the allowed dimensions , rear facing 6 metres from edge of property blah blah ,etc.
So kicked out, since permitted rights were removed 12 years ago when house was built.
Put in for full planning, kicked out again we are in a flood plain, yes might be but we are 2 metres above river and if we are flooded several houses nearby will be submerged and the main road will be a metre deep.
So flood risk assessment done apparently we must have an escape route with a designated escape route , further nobody must sleep in it in case they wake up drowned!
I did ask about our designated down stairs bedroom which was put their as a planning condition for a disabled person, but nobody could see a problem there.
So building inspector calls today very happy with the wall but the 4 inch concrete floor has to cone up!
Cannot be sure it has a good base. Been down for 12 years with no sign of a crack. FFS we used to only use 4 inches in cattle yards. Now an 8 inch sandwich may not be sufficient to carry a few plant pots!
Then he saw the air vent bricks, which we were just going to allow to vent into the orangery, oh no must have ducts to the outside so more hassle and another 4 inches of concrete!

We had it made us paint roofs, doors and gates green. Even on sheds that had been there for 50 plus years.

I'm mean galvanized brand new gates green.

Also stopped us p sparing a wall even though it was p spared prior to an extension.

I didnt go down that route. He just came out with he had stopped a neighbour from getting a convertion. and if I was to apply for what I had been passed 4 years ago there is no way I would get it if I applied now.
Just hosted a Pimms party in the Village Hall so "ALL is WELL with the WORLD"

Further update received from Ofgem today, they are going to cancel my application, as they say they now understand the circumstances of my application and I can resubmit an application as a retrofit. I have no idea what the difference is, as the form I have filled in is the only form available. Roll on tommorow.
