Is it possible to fill a area in which has a dip in the field with soil. what licence do you need

If you are bringing soil in from outside the farm, I think planning at least. If on the farm, moving soil is what happens in farming. But GOK in this bureaucratic age!

Almost certainly no with brought in dirt.

I am pretty sure that you can move your own dirt around as long as you don't raise the height of the dumping area over 6 inches. After that planning permission.

It certainly was possible to fill in a dip , for valid agricultural reasons. But as others say not if you pull in from elsewhere.

You can do it, but you will need an ea licence and possibly planning permission for bringing soil in.

where are you based, I just seem to have acquired 5000t of good stuff

If its your own field and your own soil your filling the dip with, go for it.
Main thing is strip top soil out of the dip first to level over the top when finished so crops grow straight away..

When we were members of Glastir (entry level environmental scheme), not allowed within the farm (if I remember correctly), now the scheme has lapsed allowed within the farm.
