It used to be common at shows to see people milking individual cows with a machine bucket attached to a tap that they had fitted into the air inlet manifold of their vehicle. With the engine running, it worked very well. Not so good if they were unfortunate enough to have the bucket tip over, or more likely run over as it would flood the engine resulting in serious spanner time!

Like anything, the less you use it the worse it gets.

If you can fix up an air line from the parlour and hang a claw on it that would be easiest, cheapest and best.

Have a cow I need to milk on one is there a good reasonably price one out there?
I have one from Graham Shepherd that I use occasionally for milking fresh cows for colostrum that has been absolutely fine with no issues, can’t remember how much I paid for it

Stick with what is proven. I rebuilt the pulsator for $8 on the surge bucket milker my grandpa started with in the 1940s. Got a vacuum pump and ancient electric motor for free and mounted to a board to make it mobile.

Fullwood fr2 vacuum pump. Will run 2 milking buckets and is my insurance if everything went seriously tits up. Luckily only used it in desperation once and that was more to catch up.
Also gets used for drying off everything and is permanently housed in handling systems next to calving shed.
Anything messes about after calving at unusual hour gets milked and calves fed required colostrum.
Chinese and Turkish stuff that tries to run oil free is rubbish. Tried it.

Dad did that at Leicester show one year and the locals thought he was running the car on milk

Lol, Braunstone Park? Leicester County used to be one of my favourites, until one year, mid 80's at the time of the racial tension and riots, on the way in my wagon was surrounded by " some of the locals " who started to rock it. Was well scary until I was rescued by more Policemen than I had ever seen in one place before, who moved them on. :oops:
