Split feeding , with concs fed after 4pm , if it doesn't work I'll sh!t in my hands and clap

Think they are after wholecrop. Seriously thinking of not bothering with WC or maize if this is what we are going to be facing in future.
Risk of acidosis if sprinkling blend on top of feed post 4pm?
What is worse is the perching in the sheds & shitting in the water troughs (never mind turning ginger cows white or getting bird sh!t on your hands from every surface you touch). Have to empty every one each day due to contamination.

Previous farm we couldn't give the jerseys acidosis if we tried
I assume you feed several mixer wagon loads a day , my suggestion would be to go around all groups in the morning with 30 ish percent of their forage , then top up with the rest of the forage and blend after 4pm
Can't remember , do you feed on the roundabout?

Not a bad idea.
Not sure what you mean by “roundabout”?

I am told each little b********** eats 70gms of feed each day, not a lot, until you multiply it by however many thousands you have coming to your bird table. as the f^^^^^^^^^^ only pick out the best bits, you are looking at a significant cost. that's before the cows getting the lerky, sh!t on feeders, water troughs and getting you really pee'd off !
the only long term fix is to keep moving them off every time they land. by doing this, you use up their energy reserves, for self preservation after several moves, you will force them to move to find food. might sound over zealous, but think what it is costing you in terms of wasted food, milk, cows picking up bugs etc. we do it every year, usually 4/5days. and repeat when another flock finds you, we use bangers as well. it must be coincidence we haven't had them in this year, but...
ps... don't tell your neighbour what you are doing, because they will go to him !!!!!!!

Unbelievable. 2,000, 5,000, 10,000, more??

Never seen this number before & totally helpless. Running bird scare alarm, laser and bangers but they don't care anymore and frankly I have run out of ideas other than to feed towards dusk but I am doubting this will have any effect either other than to upset the cows' routine further (cf blood testing etc)

Any ideas (very carefully received)?
Have you still got them?I haven’t seen any here this week just wondering have they gone sooner this year in this mild wether?
