I’m pleased to announce the Innovate UK Plan for Action for Business Innovation, which is being officially launched.
This is our plan for how we will deliver on the UK Innovation Strategy, with the vision for the UK to become a global hub for innovation by 2035.
Innovation, the process that turns science and technology into added-value business reality, is essential to creating the future we all want to see: a future of good health, prosperity, respect for our planet and environment – and a future of fairness, diversity, and equality.
Our Plan for Action will form the basis for our work over the next four years to serve and support UK businesses to use innovation to drive our economic recovery; to fulfil our net zero obligations; to help keep everybody in the UK healthy and safe; and to educate our young people and develop the innovators of the future.
We will issue a delivery plan with detailed actions each year, and we will measure and report on our progress in specific areas. We will work efficiently and with a perpetual desire to always want to improve what we do and how we do it.
In the six months that I’ve been with Innovate UK, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know many capable and enthusiastic colleagues and partners. Together with them, I’m strongly committed to work diligently, fairly, and accountably so that we can help build our future economy and society by inspiring, involving and investing in UK business innovation.
