The New Holland T6.180 Methane Power is the world’s first 100% methane powered production tractor and is key to completing the virtuous cycle of the Energy Independent Farm℠ system. Farmers grow crops and use waste products to generate biomethane, which powers the tractor, which, in turn, helps to grow those very crops.

Small Robot Company's vision is to make food production sustainable and increasing farm outputs globally. Their farmbots Tom, Dick and Harry will plant, feed and weed arable crops autonomously, with minimal waste. Plus the integration of Rootwave's weed zapping technology will make autonomous non-chemical weeding a reality.

Our vision is to make food production sustainable, reducing farming’s impact on the environment and increasing farm outputs globally. Our farmbots Tom, Dick and Harry will plant, feed and weed arable crops autonomously, with minimal waste.

Farmers are integral to the environmental solution. New technology has opened up new possibilities for improving the efficiency and sustainability of agriculture. Now is the time for us to work together to create a more sustainable farming model. That's why we our developing our technology on farms, with farmers.

The ground-breaking Hands Free Hectare (HFHa), run by Harper Adams University and Precision Decisions, which aimed to be the first in the world to plant, tend and harvest a crop with only autonomous vehicles and drones, has come to an end after a successful harvest.

The ground-breaking Hands Free Hectare (HFHa), run by Harper Adams University and Precision Decisions, which aimed to be the first in the world to plant, tend and harvest a crop with only autonomous vehicles and drones, has come to an end after a successful harvest.

The Connected Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) project, we completed in 2019, was to develop track and road navigation abilities of our autonomous system. The key developments included integrating communication system to interact with infrastructure (gates etc) and developing the laser safety system to slow the tractor to a stop when approaching obstacle rather than a full vehicle shut down as in the original fail safe system. This project also brought in our third Hands Free Partner company Farmscan Ag working along side Precision Decisions (a Map of Ag company) and Harper Adams University.

Drone footage of our first autonomous drilling on the HFF Following poor winter weather and then UK lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic the HFF team have finally been able to get out into the field to plant a cover crop and have their first opportunity at endurance testing. The field being drilled in this video is Blue Pits, it is 1.6ha and is a clay soil with a gradual slope from side to side. The tractor control system is all new from FarmscanAg and the route planning, which now includes headlands, has been developed by Precision Decisions both of whom are partners in the project. The HFF is located at Harper Adams University who are also responsible for integrating the various systems and machines.

Belgian company JOSKIN is a leader in the design and manufacture of agricultural machines for transport and spreading of farm effluents such as: slurry tankers and spreading/injection tools, muck spreaders, agricultural and industrial tipping trailers, livestock trailers, grass aerators and toppers.

This technology distributes the tractor power by transferring it to the whole tractor-trailer combination. In concrete terms, the JOSKIN E-Drive will partly transfer the tractor power by distributing it on two extra axles. The tractor traction is therefore supported by that of the vehicle behind it. It is consequently not necessary anymore to increase the weight on the tractor axles in order to gain grip during road transportation. The same applies for works in the fields, which require a higher tractor power in wet and unfavourable conditions.

Integration of Slurry Analysis on JOSKIN Tankers In collaboration with John Deere, JOSKIN offers a real time technology to analyze the slurry composition (NPK). JOSKIN integrates this ISOBUS connected system on its tankers fitted with a proportional flow meter. The ISOBUS protocol is used to transfer data between the HarvestlabTM (NIR computer), the MCS computer and the Joskin ECU. Analyzing the slurry before spreading meets agricultural, economical and environmental objectives.

CombCut was developed to fight weed in cereals, ley and pasture but can also be used to treat beans, onions, corn and carrots. Using the unique technology you are able to fight weed by combing in the lower part of the crop, selectively cutting the weed and letting the crop grow further. Better for the producer, the consumer and the environment.

The easyconnect system is designed for easier and safer handling of crop protection products and recycling of containers. It allows liquid crop protection products to be directly transferred from their original container to the spray tank and to accurately measure the volume of the chemical being transferred. This significantly reduces operator exposure and environmental risks from splashing or spilling.

Genetic advances have revolutionised our understanding of what makes plants tick. But doing well in a nice cosy greenhouse is one thing – what happens when you plant that same variety outside to face high winds, torrential rains, heavy frosts or the baking hot sun?

Modern technologies now allow us to spy on crops 24/7, gathering data as never before – but more than that they open a window into a world unseen by the naked eye.

OPICO believes that mechanical weeding is a commercially viable means of herbicide-free weed control for both organic and conventional farmers and has introduced a range of interrow cultivators from Austrian firm Hatzenbichler. OPICO’s interrow hoes use the Tillett and Hague camera guidance system believed to be the most accurate on the market.

Precision Ag Technologies - Digital solutions walkaround

Jack Howard, John Deere's Precision Ag specialist shows us the new and refreshed MyJohnDeere and the digital solutions in our precision ag portoflio. These include our JD Link telematics, our JD Connected Support and how the machine and agronomic data can be analysed from the Operations Center.

I use the Operations Center to decide based on facts! Consider your machine in the field a sensor: it constantly collects information, e.g. from a harvesting machine or an ISOBUS implement. This information can be transmitted to the Operations Center automatically in almost real-time. There it s depicted in a way that allows you to decide based on facts
