Interesting they made a thing about the yellow paint being done by hand rather than robots…..then the black was shown applied by robots!

Good programme spoilt by annoyingly loud and ‘in yer face’ presenters.
Rather like having Jamie Oliver and his repulsively ‘mockney’ accent spitting all over a sumptuous repast that had taken a true culinary genius several days to assemble and prepare.

Paint shop looked positively pre historic. Earlier JCB yellow wheels still look good after thirty years, while later paint work flakes off quicker than Boris Johnson changes his mind.

Essentially an excellent insight into one of our greatest companies, and one with its roots in British farming.
A programme rather spoilt by appalling presenters, and also perhaps tainted by our own ongoing experience of some absolutely shocking standards of paintwork found on our farm machines.

Have been to the factory twice, museum is fantastic. Don't own a JCB machine though, equivalent backhoe Terex runs ring around their 3CX.

I especially liked the yellow topcoat guy on the right who was slumped over his steps handrail wafting paint like he was watering his lawn

Yep! Currently have my 536-60 in the workshop for a black paint touch up.
You'd think it was suffering from the mechanical equivalent of Psoriasis the way it flakes off...

Apologies to anyone with said complaint btw but you get my anology!

Not sticking up for JCB, but is yellow paint not the hardest colour to paint of them all, was told by a paintshop years ago yellow is by far hardest to apply,
Combined with lots of stuff not allowed in paint ie lead to name but 1, the paint is not as good as it was from years gone by,
Having said that, flaking paint of today's standard is not so good
