The time has come for me to look at changing my truck. Currently have a 60plate hilux which does the job but is getting long in the tooth now. The natural choice would be a new hilux but I must say I'm not overly inspired by it. The problem is any other pickup is always going to fall short of the hilux imo....and it's still a pickup. Looked at land cruisers and shotgun sports, even caught myself looking at the new defender before I remembered that i never ever want to own another land rover as long as I live . Any ideas?

Carry on with the current Hilux, you have a close relation who mends my 02 one every year. Too much to go wrong with the new ones - according to some of the threads on here.

Same predicament here , I’ve opted to just keep my Hl3 , the new ones are getting bad name and seriously expensive. .

Had the same conundrum with my Dmax a couple months ago.
A man I trust who deals in nothing but pickups said keep what you have. Says the only ones he'd entertain with big miles is the Hilux, dmax and 3.2 ranger.
I'd take the man at his word.

Ram 6.4 V8 hemi ... 13litres /100km empty , 20litres/100km towing cattle trailer , mds engine shuts of 4 cyls when it doesnt need them.
i dont think you can get rams in RHD , i heard someone was converting them in AUS.
That’s decent mileage ,my f150 5.0l won’t get that pulling a twenty foot flat trailer into the wind. Big difference between summer and winter. Took it to california a few years back and noticed the litres per 100/km a lot better than home in the cold.

factory approved conversion..with the proper parts carried out in Australia.....available here in NZ.....absolutely stunning truck that shouldn't be compared with the likes of Ranger or Hilux... selling well, particularly for those towing more than 3.5 tonnes, but also to tradespeople who are getting towards the end of their working life and say " it will be the last truck I buy, so why not".......fuel consumption?.....normal driving about 14l/100km.. towing a large horse float with two tonnes of horses.. surprisingly only climbed to 15.2l/100km...very easy truck to drive.. very relaxed...at 105kph only running at just over 1000rpm...road rage.. never.. everybody gives you a wide berth!!!...would you buy one....if you can justify a purchase price of double a Hilux.. go for it!!!
