Installing flashing light

Hi,

Hope some of you can help as i'm not that electrical minded! I'm wanting to install a flashing beacon for my JD 2140 as we have purchased some more land further away, so more road work. I have bought a mount for the beacon ( quick release fitting). I was wanting to connect it straighht up to the battery with a switch and fuse (20 amp?). I can see where the positive goes but do i just put a wire from the beacon mount to the negative on battery.
Any help would be much appreciated.
thanks

A lot easier if you T the live feed off the wiper switch so it shares the fuse. I wouldn't have thought it would use more than 2 or 3 amps. Fuses are often shared by different electric features.

The becons on our 7740 and tm were fine earth through the braket and both had a positive feed in the roof for them to wire straight in to I dont know about your tractor Josh might be worth a check

one flashing light plus a whippy aerial = +100 HP two flashing beacons and you won't need a fuse as the tractor will auto desruct

Well all I can say is our massey has a 10a fuse for the beacon and it works fine and a case we had, ran the beacon, radio, wiper and horn off 10 or 15 amps with no problems at all.
