Installing new sand cubicles

I am looking to convert our far off dry yard from a straw yard to sand cubicles. I plan to get the preform sand cubicle curbs that bolt to the floor. My worry is drainage, with a solid concrete floor should I put something at the bottom of the sand to allow wet to drain from the bottom. I have some old wing flex mattresses was thinking of putting them in the bottom. Any thoughts? Thanks

We did the same but just cast the kerb straight on top of the old straw yard floor.

Some people say break up the concrete under the cow to allow any moisture to escape it may do for a bit but will so block.

Better off adjusting the cubicle dimensions until the beds stay clean.

I wouldn't put the mattresses in as they will make it harder to rake out any sand that does get wet. Also it will harbour bugs an moisture.
