Well it's came round to the insurance renewal time of year again I have most of my policies with one company but doing pricing around for car home and lifestyle and pick up I can save hundreds of pounds splitting it up with other insurance companies which I am looking at doing this year my question is the farm business insurance is not as easy to get quotes. Who do you use and how do you find them to deal with as I think moving it could save me into the £1000's if the other policies are anything to go by.

Wev had different insurers but were now all nfu and wont be leavin as theyr the only 1s that pay out without a whole faff and tryin to get out of it
Yes l was with the NFU NFU MUTUAL until l made my second claim in nearly fifty years, the NFU were not allowed to talk to me even though l paid my subs plus extra for legal help for nearly fifty years, the Mutual, they were the closest to hell l have been in nearly eighty years.

nfu were stroke on one of our claims, hence we swapped,

brokers 10 times easier, and more helpful and much cheaper!

i have cars (inc farm cars) with direct line all rest with broker, alot cheaper this way even broker agreed.

NFU were a bunch of twits when dad had his quad bike stolen, and got quite arsey. Eventually sending out two guys from Stratford on Avon to do an interview under caution.
They ended up interviewing me, informed me that it was the same as being under police caution and basically accused me of somehow being involved in the theft , this was all after we thought the claim had been sorted with their assessor, and they wouldn’t pay out on the full claim as they said the bike hasn’t been kept in a secure location. This was down to the fact we had written on the claim that it had been taken out of the barn. On farm we had allways referred to the meal room where the mill is as the barn which had fully lockable doors, the locks having been put on when we’d had our first quad as it was the best and easiest secured place on the farm to keep it,
So in the end they payed out minus 500 quid for it being insecure despite showing them and the police the forced padlock

Decided after that that if they were going to be awkward over a relatively small claim, we didn’t fancy our chances with them in the event of a large claim so moved.

Only had one claim since and that went through no problem at all

Have to say that my recent experiences of NFU Mutual have all been positive. They've paid out all claims I have had promptly. Currently have two claims going through where cars went through the hedge/fence and they've paid out in advance based on the single repair estimate provided.

Added to that, I did a price review recently through a well-known broker and they couldn't touch my current renewal prices.

Helps that I've got a VERY good local agent though.

Same here , can't see how you can possibly get better
