Insured our Farm Shop now for six years no problem, this year the price has doubled, £5G last year £10G. this year another came back at £24G some others declined as we have a cafe in one half. it appears they are scared of the double skin 4 inch insulation sheets which cover our roof and some side walls, they are blaming the grefell tower block case, anyone having trouble insuring farm buildings with this product??

Seeing Kingspan maybe what some would call fast and loose with the facts, you can understand why insurer's would be concerned about anything in a building from that group.

That does sound one hell of a loading though. Cost to replace?

Insurance companies are getting stuffed over grenfell fallout (or are worried about being so) and it's all rolling downhill. Any excuse really, there's no danger in a single storey structure with no sleeping accommodation.

Just had a word with the people that built the shop originally, seems every ones premium is at least double, even though the product, has been fire rated.

literally ever builder i know quotes kingspan into the build as insulation .... i think you need new insurers

We are with FSB. Federation of Small Business, as brokers, they gave me the results of their search as four would not quote, three refused as part of shop had a cafe , one quote at £24k, one at £14k and one at £10k, double last years, yes it is a top quality policy, a complete must with any one involved in British Food, but double price is hard to swallow.

Didn't play loose and fast with the facts per se according to those in the family and trade more played the system. Failed British Building Standards but passed EU standards which superseded ours they being Celotex is owned by the French they complained until we let it be sold over here.
